Small unexplainable things

You are holding:
5 ruby vials, 3 coral vials, a delicate dreamcatcher, 2 bloodstone vials, a
soot-blackened tinderbox, an emerald vial, 2 turquoise vials, a diamond vial, a garnet vial, 20 corpses of a tiger shark, 10 corpses of a monstrous lobstrosity, 15 corpses of a dream leech, 12 corpses of...

Okay, so we've discussed things like tells, honours, and other things that we thought didn't make sense (but now they do because we've discussed them). So, how do you explain this phenomenom of being able to carrying 100x your weight worth of items, more specifically the corpses? I'm not saying to change this to make it more realistic, because as how things currently work that would suck, but I can't find a logical explanation for it. blink.gif If you have any other things that you can't make out then post them here too and we'll all wonder about them.

By nodding and smiling? tongue.gif

You don't necessarily take the whole corpse, maybe?

Like, you've hacked it up into little itty bitty efficient little pieces, and all the innards have been spilled out. You just take the biggest part, thread it to your fishing line, and tally ho onwards.

Maybe when you pick something up, it automatically shrinks to a teeny tiny scale model of itself. So, you're not holding 10 full-sized monsterous llobstrosities (which I imagine from the name are pretty big, though having never come across one myself, I don't know that for sure), you're holding 10 itty bitty ones about the size of your thumbnail. If you drop it, it'll grow back to normal size though (otherwise, how would you see all the corpses people leave lying around when they logout?).

Or not. In fact, probably not. whistling.gif

Edited cause I can't spell 'lobstrosity.'

Similar to how anime/cartoons explain it: You don't. It can't be explained using IG mechanics beacause:

1. the 'aetherbased holding power' is the Rift and

2. For some reason I can't pick up houses, but I can pick up all of the wood required to build a city AND still wear full plate while fighting with two swords at the same time WHILE eating herbs AND quaffing potions AND putting on salves.

So unless someone has a realy good explanation, I think it's best just to think of it as the 'hammer out of nowhere' effect.

Though, as a woman, I demand to be allowed to punt men who cause me grief into the air.

It's called suspension of disbelief. Our game system isn't set up to make it so that we have a weight system, and that it's still fun. Games like Morrowind work, but thier system is set up differently, and they have different things they do/need to do.

So, we smile and nod.
Unknown2005-12-14 03:53:18
Hmm, I guess that works.

I once got bored on Achaea and decided to add up the weight of everything I had on my person at the time whether in my hands, pack, kitbag, pouch or what I was wearing. I think it came out to have 5000lbs worth of equipment I had on me at the time. I was rather amused by that.
Narsrim2005-12-14 05:07:53
If we added weight, we'd just have to add something silly like bags of holding where you can stuff multiple items in them and tada, you can again carry lots of junk - it just has to be in the bag.

But that'd make even less sence. Instead of just carrying a lot, you're now changing the weight of things by putting it somewhere else tongue.gif

New Tae'dae power - SQUISH

(Lomdomian sways dangerously for a moment, then with a heavy thud falls over, squishing Nejii underneath his massive bulk.)

Perhaps their soul floods out of the body when it dies and it becomes much lighter, or something.

Gods no. I don't want to imagine the ways the mudsex crowd is going to corrupt that.

Speaking of small unexplainable things, have you ever noticed that Lusternia's family system makes it possible for someone to have an Igasho and a Faeling as parents?

Don't get me started on the ridiculousness that is known as the family system..
Nymerya2005-12-14 11:34:59
That's why we're trying to keep most of the d'Erlette as Viscanti.

Lyco is the odd one out. But we have an IC explination for him!
