You actually did well.. the hindering was annoying me. Like Acrune said if you had used Deluge you would have done better, and if you had gone for more damage and less hindering. Once you had Wounds on me, you should have stuck with damage effects.

Well Um.. I was under the impression that knowing how to heal thngs was good?  Instead of sitting there and dying which y the way was also stupid.  Aquacast center.. duh stupid me.

Yet another reason I'm not a good fighter. I get so spaztic my hand start shaking and I forget  my skills.

Then I suggest not jumping people biggrin.gif

Perhaps you should start jumping your own city mates then. I see more Celestians there killing Merians than anyone else tongue.gif

Edit: Not to mention that they are not Celest aligned.

I ask them to stop in my presence. Which they usually do. I did the same to you. And you proceded to kill one in front of me.

Narsrim, I say to thee-
Soulpatch27: I guess no one understands roleplay
Soulpatch27: I don't do things because I know I'll win I do them because Kaileigh would tongue.gif

Actually.. I think I have. Set my demesne against Aesyra.. or something. But you know ther's that whole law thing.
Gregori2005-12-16 17:27:42
I didn't mind that you jumped me. I mean on an OOC level you played your role.. on an IC role Gregori will tell you to "get thee hence from my sight", whenever he sees you and your little buddy.

A healer is as good as a health vial and she was being healed like every 5 seconds, and in case you didn't see I was facing the issue of being frozen solid through 90% of that because I had no fire vial. When I wasn't frozen I was paralysed from telepathy. Don't under estimate the power of hindering.

The quest is -extremely- easy to botch Gregori and yes killing even unnamed Merians can botch it. If you kill too many of them, Marinus might not hand out the rod for all the gorgogs.. no rod = no closing the rift.
Gregori2005-12-16 18:43:21
oh ooops.. my bad....

QUOTE
Aesyra tells you, "If you kill them all and Marinus admits defeat.. it's impossible to get the rod. And yeah, I'm just saying since many don't seem away that sneezing too loud can botch the quest *mumble*."
Aesyra tells you, "Aware even.

A sedate office.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. The centerpiece of the top floor of the tower is without a doubt the circular table of blue marble that sits perfectly in the centre of the room, dominating the space. Like
the other levels, the walls are bare, exposing the hewn blue stone of the masonry of the building, and somehow creating a sense of former glory and luxury now gone, sacrificed in order to survive. One of the chairs pulled up to the table is slightly
larger and more ornate than the others, suggesting seniority and power. Marinus, a regal looking merian, sits here, frowning as he contemplates matters. A merian maiden stands here, surveying the area and watching for any wayward children. A merian
bravo stands here, looking at you with suspicion evident in his eyes. An oak sapling clings tenaciously to the ground here.
You see exits leading east and down.
3911h, 4515m, 4876e, 10p, 16676en, 24490w exk-  (0h, 0m, 0e)
With a low grunt of derision, a merian bravo walks off to the east.
3911h, 4515m, 4876e, 10p, 16676en, 24490w exk-  (0h, 0m, 0e) incline marinus

You incline your head politely to Archmage Marinus.
Archmage Marinus says, "We have failed, and must surrender to the might of the Gorgogs...take this rod, and may the Fates forgive us all."
Archmage Marinus reaches into his robes, withdrawing an ornate rod which he passes to you.

QUOTE
You put an ornate rod into the Moonhart Mother Tree.
The sound of pixies giggling tinkles from the branches above as tiny hands reach out and grab an ornate rod.

That's why you can kill all Merians, kill all Gorgogs, give Merians to Gognigin, then give Gorgogs to Marinus, get both rods, and give the rods to Gognigin and Marinus respectively?

tongue.gif

Killing Merians or Gorgogs does not botch either side of the quest, the fact that you can get both rods simultaneously proves that.

True and true.
Gregori2005-12-16 21:03:45
Just for the sake of proving a point.

You greet Gognigin, a small gorgog with a sincere smile.
Gognigin, a small gorgog roars in futile rage, and throws an ornate rod at you.

They are about as Celest aligned as the Ur'dead are Magnagora aligned.
Ekard2005-12-17 12:52:19
Actually you ca ngt both rodes, but if you give one of them rod and something else then you cant start opposit quest.

I bet you had that when you give gorgogs to Marinus or merians to Gognigin they didnt react.

Wrong.

ur'Dead are old ur'Guard.

Merians are just a race.

I can understand defending them, as Magnagora would probably defend a viscanti settlement in just the same fashion, however. But don't make statements like the one you did when it's blatantly false.

These merians are the descendants of the Old Celestian Empire, the ones who created the gorgogs as probes to go exploring the outer planes.

That's somewhat similar to the orclach being old ur'Guard. tongue.gif

This is exactly what I meant. I don't see the point in making a statement on the forums that I know is "blatantly false".
Gregori2005-12-20 00:13:30
You know if Celest actually defended the Merians that would be one thing. However, and find this hypocrasy in every racial settlement, they do not, they don't even protect the quest denizens except at such times that the rift is open, even then they rarely do. Instead they run around complaining people are killing them, but do nothing actually proactive to defend them. Kaileigh was the first person I have seen actually try and stop someone killing them.

Now as I said I see this in every racial settlement and I think it is the worst form of RP there is. You can kill anything in the settlement, -except- the quest denizens. Nobody cares about that little merian child running down the road, sure kill him! Just don't touch Marinus, cause he gives you gold! People need to get a grip and realise their RP is transparent when they do or say such things, either defend them, or shut up and let people kill them.

Celest does not officially protect the Merians because they supposedly do not follow the light. This view is encouraged by Celest's patron. There are those of us who disagree with this view, myself included. I do follow the laws and respect the dictates of my superiors, so I do not hinder Celest citizens nor Serenwilde citizens from killing them. Now since I am not a hypocrite, I also do not seek to hinder Magnagorans nor Glomdoring citizens from killing them either. I just take the path of placing a personal restriction on myself of not killing them. Then again, I try not kill any sentient beings that do not at present nor in the past work against the safety of Celest and her citizens.
Kaileigh2005-12-20 00:57:07
Celests patron is all for letting people kill them because his biggest order member aside from Aesyra is the one that lets the gorgogs out out.
