The coldness that comes with snow.
Wouldn't that be fun, though? Having snowball fights in t-shirts? Without freezing? And no one dare ask why I'm living in Canada.

I could've sworn I've heard of actualy studies that are looking into the capability of eliminiating 'sleepiness'. If I get it correctly, the body actively gives off a chemical/pulse/whatever that actualy causes you to get tired enough to sleep. They believe that if you can permanently block that off that you'd never feel sleepy and, thus, would never need sleep.
Personaly, I won't like that for two reasons:
1. I believe that dreams are important for us, in both that the body needs it (though no idea why) and that they are messages from the subconcious. No dreams is a Bad Thing.
2. US companies have a love for overworking their staff. Vacations are there just because if you don't give them, the competition will. Sick days are to keep you away from the other workers. Breaks and lunches that let you actualy eat had to be fought for. We have our evenings to ourselves because companies have seen what 3 days without sleep does to their bottom line.
The LAST thing I'd like to find is a boss handing me a pill, saying "We need you for the next 168 hours*. Don't worry about going home to sleep, just take this pill and you'll be fine. Now get working!"
*It wouldn't be so bad if you can get overtime, but if you are making a half decent salery, and your boss marks you a "Team leader" then you very well CAN work 168 hours in a week without overtime*
Now Grogginess I could do without. Let me feel either alert and be active or sleepy and fall asleep. None of this "Not tired enough to sleep but worn out" stuff.

Sleep. It's such a horrible waste of time, when you could be doing something much more reproductive.

And I thought you were so innocent too!
(And I'm with Cwin on the sleepiness/grogginess thing.)

Freudian slip anyone? Or was that intentional?

I could be wrong, because it's been a while since I've taken that class and I don't have time to look it up now, but I'm pretty sure that no dreams = psychosis and eventual death, so you're definetly right there.
The one trivial thing I'd get rid of if I could is that extra wrapper you find on a lot of candy. Why do you need a wraper inside a wrapper? That's just exta trash!

Having nightmares in text and actually be afraid.
It's so creepy.. I have dreams about stuff I do in Lusternia and sometimes I'll dream that I died and I fell asleep while logged in and I'm still dead when I wake up..
I still remember shortly after I became admin I had a nightmare about how I accidently said the F word on GT and Lacostian chewed me out..
Even scarier is me admitting I have nightmares about the Divine..

ARGH I meant - PRODUCTIVE - >.< You people should've known that.
Well anyway, isn't sleep a process of regaining energy for your body, so by completely shutting that off by making you not feel tired, you'd slowly kill yourself? If that's not the case then sign me up
And no Joli, what's scarier is admitting you have dreams in text

It's only sometimes when I stay up really really late on Lusternia, so they are usually about whatever I was doing before I went to bed. I've had lots of strange dreams about the order and some about me killing everyone in Celest for being retards. I rarely ever have dreams about one person in particular but I did have a dream that Elcyrion went away forever which made me sad..

Sure, but they are usually dreams about me doing something stupid and getting knocked around a bit.

Except bacon. <3 Bacon.
Pork makes me winge.

That's really an urban legend. Everyone dreams all the time. However, you may or may not recall what you dreamed.

What's important to note about sleep is the physiologically we sleep to restore ourselves. While exact mechanisms are not know, cellular division, growth, and a host of other important a necessary features are associated with sleep.
There are even studies that show that people who get a good 7-8 hours of sleep are less likely to develop wrinkles than people who only get 4-5 hours of sleep a night.
Narsrim2005-12-16 03:58:00
Just on a side note, I was telling Malicia earlier that I've started dreaming about Lusternia. My dreams are sometimes in text, sometimes not.
Last night, Geb, Asmodea, and I raided Magnagora. Geb flooded the entire city and flew around on Merfua (his dragon) and Asmodea on the other and me on my broom taunting the city. /hijack

It's kind of Lusternia related...last night I closed a door too loudly in the night a couple times or something (the one door in the kitchen is a bitch to close) and it kept vaguely waking my mum up, but not properly. And she was still half asleep, so she dreamed that a load of my friends were parked in a mobile home down the road and using my neighbour's electricity to play Lusternia with me from down there, only she'd given them a key to the house in case they needed the toilet or anything so it was them banging the doors too much. I thought it was cute!
EDIT: I've been dreaming about Lusternia since forever, but more so recently since I sleep so much now compared to before.

I've never dreamed about Lusternia.
Arix2005-12-16 04:11:38
I once had a weird dream that Lusternia was being changed from a text based game to one with graphics, and all the characters looked all crappy and stuff
