Morik2005-12-19 03:21:08
You changed guilds, how much more change do you need?
Ixion2005-12-19 03:27:26
If you're tired of aslaran, human is a good race for any archetype.
Unknown2005-12-19 03:27:54
a lot heh
Unknown2005-12-19 12:20:00

yea i thought about that one too, but it seems that being low level like 72 human would not go so well. I am really really debating on this faeling thing though, still putting more thought into it though
Unknown2005-12-21 04:20:55
As I've also given this a bit of thought recently, if you chose Moon Serenguard, wouldn't a relatively high-damage moonburst make up for some of the race's shortfalls? Even without surge, your tankiness is no -worse- than a Faeling would be in every other guild (aside Glom), except you can wear better armour.
Fighting with damage would be next to impossible, but wounding would be quite good with the high dex, wouldn't it?
I love the thought of a pint-sized warrior, it's hilarious, I'm actually considering taking Elryn to Serenguard to get away from demesnes and maybe find some interest in combat again.
Edit: Although I would consider blademaster rather than bonecrusher. A little fairy wielding a set of sharp pins can still hurt, I don't know about trying to bludgeon someone though.

Actually, how is wounding calculated? I still don't understand it.
Strength directly affects damage, with slight modification by weapon stats. But wounding? Isn't it directly affected by dexterity, with slight modification by the weapon stats?

Shryke2005-12-21 04:44:53
okay wounding is based off your strength and your weapons wounding statistic, the chance of giving a wound affliction is based off of your dexterity.
Unknown2005-12-21 04:49:09
Yuck, so essentially strength is the only important stat.
Although that makes sense for bonecrusher/axelord, and maybe pureblade, I wonder why blademaster don't use dexterity for calculating the amount of wound damage?
If I smack you with a hammer, its the force of the blow that will determine what bruising or broken bones result. If I pierce you with a rapier, its where I hit you that's important, not how fast I shove it in.
Anyway, I think normal Faelings would still be of some use as a warrior in a team situation.

Well, I'm going to give it a go... as soon as I can catch a rare Serenguard. Where are you all?!
Anyway, is there any skill that uses a lot of willpower for a warrior?

Don't go stag faeling, I'd say - one of the bonuses that seem best about stag is the faster balance facepaint, which doesn't help faelings. It makes aslarans as fast as faelings though, so stag aslaran seems nice. Faelings seem like they'd really benefit from Moon, for the drawdown damage reduction, increased surge, and weapon buffs. You also get Waning, which is nice since you can raze their quicksilver.
Unknown2005-12-21 18:42:38
aye after considering it i am just going to stay aslaran and go stag. Get my facepaint and be happy. And of course the added dex would not hurt. Stats with going stag str 15(flex +bear) dex 17(stag +1) con: 14(weathering yellow) int 16(knowledge blessing) char: 13 size smaller then 12 (love diminish) and plus lvl 3 speed...looks really nice to me
Narsrim2005-12-22 07:34:32
I've always pondered the idea of a Stag Faeling Serenguard for a couple reasons:
I believe the +balance facepaint will stack with the level 3 racial bonus. My idea is that you could take a weapon that has extreme wounding but lacks any speed whatsoever and still hit the speed cap because you have a +40% increase to balance.

Unfortunately, it doesn't.
