I'm Ebonguard. The only physical resistances I get are from my armor and resilience. I'm not sure what nightkiss protects against, all the description says is:Mother Night will bestow her blessed kiss upon you, granting you increased intelligence and some other protections.
So I don't know if that factors in at all, I don't believe I had nightkiss up when that spar took place.

I'm actually interested to know what Nightkiss does protect against.
Anyways, about the above Gregori post, it -is- pretty sad when a druid takes 600 from their own cudgel +150 bleeding. The bleeding can be knotted down almost to nothing with 1 clot (60 mana) and a chervil. I clot once on every cudgel attack, and if I have herb balance, I eat a chervil, and it negates the bleeding down to about 20, which kingdom takes care of the rest. So thus bleeding is never a problem for me unless I'm real messed up in the demesne.

Guys...you forget that I was two different races there.
Against Thaddeus, I was human with 14 int.
Against Serrin, I was faeling with 19 int.

That's sad you can have 21 int as a faeling not counting astrology

Ugh, Munsi, don't remind me.
I feel DEPRAVED. DEPRAVED I TELL YOU.

No...not really. Knowledge blessing +2, Crowform +1.
Munsia2005-12-20 14:45:50
my average gets. herosfete + tf + blessing + your crow form. and then your random 1-3 int from dolphin

Bah, I don't like to depend on outer things that much, I like to only use my own skills and karma blessings to hunt...I don't want to get too used to things that are only temporary.

Thats why you have to get used to getting these 'temporary buffs' so you can be whorish.
Munsia, 11 base con, had 4300ish health during a FFA with me. Admittedly my curing sucked as I had no druid or ecology reflexes (thanks munsia!) but her staff against me did ~973. I'm trans planar, trans rituals/sacraments (hence draconis does something), mythical resilience, virtuoso magic. No truefavour. 970ish damage, lots of bleeding. That on furrikin balance.
But then, Munsia's the high end of Seren Druid combat. It'll be fun to fight others.

I wasn't aware that Munsia had a reliable way to give sensitivity. Did you lose your armor somewhere?
EDIT: Nevermind, yes she does.

Those would work better in Serenwilde, which has more than two cooks and two astrologers.

Cudgel is a bit low, but it is probably that way with the consideration that sap would be used. Sap allows bleed damage from the cudgel and demesne to stack very well with the base damage of the cudgel attack. That is why Sap only costs 5 power now. It allows druids to use their main healing hindering attack to stack their base damage and bleeding with the explicit purpose of taking out their opponents.
If druids desire a significant upgrade in their staff damage, they will have to be willing to relinquish one or two facets of their available combat tactics. They will have to be willing to have the bleeding portion of their damage from their demesne and staff removed, or they would have to be willing to have sap replaced with a skill that does not hinder healing like their upgraded version of Aeon (which Sap happens to be). So it would have to be one, the other, or some combination of both I have mentioned to insure that the new damage druids possess would not then make them overpowered.

What if sap was delayed itself by a speed defence?
That is, if you have quicksilver up, getting hit by sap means that you have 3 seconds while your speeded reflexes are able to overcome the sticky sap (no aeon), after which it solidifies more like normal (aeon) and burns out your quicksilver.
The powercost would have to come down, but would that make it more reasonable, or just unusable?

No good - the smart druid will always get sap on someone. Time it with Paralysis and get it just after most of the realm attacks and they won't get balance/equilibrium/paralysiscure back within three seconds.

Yeah, checking - she did ~760 a round somtimes, ~960 a round sometimes. I'd guess charbdyon on the bone fetish. Does the fetish hit once or twice a round?
Gregori2005-12-20 23:04:38
Depends on if we want to hit once or twice with it.
Unknown2005-12-20 23:14:43
My biggest argument against sap is how effective it is against low-to-mid ability fighters. Sure if you have a ton of triggers in place you can set up healing priorities and get it cleansed, perhaps in time for it to do little harm if the druid is acting alone, but that's a lot of work to go through, especially for someone who isn't a big-time combatant, for a 2P ability that you just need to have some druidry skill to use.
Also: Nerf Saplings. Damn droods.

Well, its not supposed to be impossible to pull off, I just meant giving a slight defence against it.
If you don't time it perfectly with paralysis/treelife then it is much easier to escape.
Edit: Er... 2 power? I wish!
