Um
.....we had this discussion once in IRC when we started up on the radio.....
I gave up tryin to quantify mine. It's "Whatever catches my odd little music imp". I like everything from hiphop to country to opera to pop to *shrug*. Music. That's what I like.

My favourite? I don't know what genre you would put her in, but whichever one Tori Amos falls into .

classical. music from opera's without the singing in it, too. like wagner's and greig's.
also a little bit of big band. again, without the singing, though.
pretty much whatever the band i'm in plays, i (learn too, as some i don't like at first) like.

classical music, opera, and 70s and 80s rock. Although there are a few songs I like here and there that aren't in those categories
Yurika2005-12-22 00:34:53
Music I generally listen to, are mainly pop, techno, dance, 80's and Adult Contemporary. I do also listen to classical music, like Wagner, Tchaikovsky.. especially his, and another by Holst.
Arix2005-12-22 00:43:12
no matter what you usually listen to, there's always a few songs from some other category that get stuck in your head. For example, I've had 'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor stuck in my head for the last several years
Laysus2005-12-22 00:52:57
Metal, rock, goth, industrial, and then a spattering of everything else.

HAHA! Are you serious?
Didn't think there was such a music genre as Industrial...
Arix2005-12-22 01:01:16
in my defense, it is a prety catchy song. I often get random disco songs stuck in my head for long stretches. But listening to Gloria Gaynor is less annoying than hearing 'Play That Funky Music, White Boy' over and over

Hehe, I wasn't saying it to be mean. Just amused by it 'tis all.
Sylphas2005-12-22 07:03:56
Industrial, EBM, Synthpop, orchestral (I have music major friends. Classical is a period of music, not a style ) anything, New Age, Celtic, etc...
Unknown2005-12-22 09:03:24
I like everything from rock to rap, just depends on what I'm doing. If I'm in the club: industrial, rap, go-go, house. If I'm chilling, thinking or mediating, etc: classical, the Benedictine Monks (what genre is that?). When I'm exercising: industrial, rock, whatever gets me moving.
Sylphas2005-12-22 09:04:49
I dread clubs around here. Hip hop and rap are NOT danceable, and not one will convince me otherwise. Well, Save the Last Dance was fun, but that was a movie. Movies can make everything I hate look epic and fun.

While I'm not a huge fan, that down south "Crunk" music can me really pumped up and rowdy in the club. In any other setting it just makes me cranky.

Oh goddess, that reminds me of the guy the other day following me around in WoW. On an RP server, trying to get me to sign his guild petition to start the "Kings of Crunk." So wanted to pound his face in.
Iridiel2005-12-22 12:42:21
It happens. I had once a petition about signing to start a guild of female sluts dedicated to please men in exchange for money. I was told I could leave right after, but then I wouldn't get comissions.
In an RP server.
Sad.

RP really does mean nothing. I figured it wouldn't, but at least there might be a FEW less annoying as hell names. No such luck. It's not enforced at ALL.
Verithrax2005-12-22 14:04:34
Expecting RP from a commercial graphic MMORPG?
Anyway, I listen to rock nearly continuously, mostly to Jethro Tull. I have some classic around here somewhere but I don't listen to it as often as I used to.

Almost anything, with the exception of commercial pop and country.
