Recently I've been having some problems with things not recognizing my email as valid. I've used this same email for the last five or so years, invictus__@hotmail.com. Yes, two underscrores.

First I tried to sign up for Second Life, because my friend wanted to show me this project she was working on. It said I needed to enter a valid email. I did, and it still wouldn't let me in.

Then when I signed up for Xbox live, it wouldn't let me use that email (anyone find that odd? Microsoft MSN Hotmail, Microsoft Xbox 360...?). I had to use my sister's hotmail, go onto their website, and manually change it back over.

Lastly, I went to sign up for Ctrl+Alt+Del's new animated webcomic, and yet again, it says I need a valid email.

I get email all the time (sometimes from places I don't even want, that I've never given my email to...), and use it for MSN messenger, I just used it today when applying for a new position withing my company. Anyone have any idea why multiple places think my email is invalid?

I'm fairly certain it's because of the underscores in your name. I've heard of the same problem with other people when they had underscores in their name. Granted, I could be wrong and I'm no tech expert.

I'd guess that your double underscore just looks fake to the new 'advanced' fake email detection. But thats not why I posted. You ever get on xbox live? I sent you a friend request a few weeks ago, and its still pending last I checked

Depending on the checking they're doing, is usual to check for _before and after the @, and also to discard emails with too many _ or ~ symbols, you know, because they have a great chance of being fake it seems.
If you want a gmail account I can send you an invite. They're much better than hotmail.

Gmail's a relatively common web based email service that allows us 2 gigs of storage at this point in time. Pretty good spam filter on it too. I've had 50 invitations sitting on my account for quite a while, so if anyone wants one you have but to ask.

Wow, most of the things are taken. Richter, Carthan, Archon, Thearchon, tons of others. I wanted to keep this to one word, no numbers, no punctuation, because this email will be used for everything, and I wanted to be able to give it out easilly.
