Not only didn't I catch him I asked him to stop and he did it in front of me anyway.
Yes I did think Amaru was talking about me. But the real world has things happen because of miss understandings so I didn't take it back.
I really started this whole thing with the intention of quitting or going to magnagora. While it is very opposite of how Kaileigh has been I tried to make a good reason for her to go.

Killing Merians != opening rift or trying to stop the rift from being closed.
You caught me killing beachcombers.
You also didn't -ask- me anything.. you walked in and said "stop"
I stopped, waited, asked if you wanted anything. You said "I want you to stop"
I shrugged and went back to killing beachcombers, again.. not part of the quest at all other than.. dun dun dun.. killing enough of them gets you a piece of the rod.
edit:
You then chose to start melding around me and attacking me.. you died.
You then chose to declare me everytime you showed up and try and remove my demesne.. you ran when I retaliated.
You then did not learn your lesson, and you kept on doing it. When Celest wouldn't enemy for your own BS, you left.

Well that should answer all of the questions. There was nothing anyone could do to keep her in Celest, so everyone can stop speculating over if they said or did something wrong. This whole situation pretty much worked out the way she scripted it.
Gregori2005-12-22 23:19:39
Just to note.. I am glad Kaileigh actually defended -all- the Merians. I prefer that to "you can kill all of them but the quest mobs." There is no real IC justification for why you would protect these guys but let the rest be slaughtered.
Cairam2005-12-22 23:20:20
Kaileigh went to Magnagora?? Awesome! Will you stop killing me and cutting down Glomdoring trees, now?
Go cut down Seren's trees.
Go cut down Seren's trees.

I have read or heard somewhere that, according to Lord Hajamin, if a group of denizens is not loyal to Celest, merians or loboshigaru monks, it means they do not embrace the Light, and therefore, they are not under the protection of Celest.
Now enemy status for opening the rift is another matter. But if I am attacked for just hunting the merians, I will surely fight back.
Kaileigh jumping Gregori is just as blood thirsty as Munsia jumping anyone in Faethorn whenever she gets a chance, except Munsia usually succeeds while Kaileigh failed.

Unless of course you don't agree with Hajamin.
The merians are loyal to the Old Celestine Empire. If not by mechanics, by sheer RP - They've given their lives and dedicated generations and generations to protecting Celest. They also use Aquamancy, which is tied to the Light I believe (I think it was Hajamin or Roark that mentioned it somewhere on the forums, actually), and is definitely tied to Celest.
I'd say, even if they aren't loyal to Celest, through simple RP, Celest should owe them a great debt for their sacrifice.
I mean, hell, Kipp in the Moors isn't loyal to Celest, but I bet he still embraces the Light - he was from Celest. Does that mean, because he moved and they didn't give him a loyal flag that he is suddenly a betrayer of the Light? I doubt it.

Kaileigh trying to stop you is good RP... She was a merian at the time, most of Celest's population is merian, and so on. If you start hunting merians, even if you're not going to do the rift quest, expect the Celestians to be offended and retaliate.
EDIT: Just because they're not under the protection of New Celest, that does not mean individual Celestians don't have a reason to protect them. Letting Gregori go and slaughter merians freely is simply bad RP for most merian characters.

Except one little flaw in your arguement. The Celestians were not mad. Kaileigh was mad. The Celestians hunt the very same Merians I did. Once again you speak without knowing your facts.
Xavius2005-12-23 03:41:39
Kaileigh has never, ever moved in lock-step with Celest. That's not a flaw in an argument, that's just the way things are.

I didn't say they were, I said that you have no right to be pissed at Kaileigh for roleplaying. Even though I don't know if the Celestians have an IC justification for hunting merians, and probably don't.
Gregori2005-12-23 04:10:19
Where did I say I was mad at Kaileigh for her RP? I said I thought she RP'd it well and I was glad of how she RP'd it.
Do try and keep up with your own words.

I think he was actually responding to Icarus, who said they had no reason to defend the merians.. I think.

Unless there's a reason for the Celestians to hunt the merians (And I'm not saying there isn't) a Celestian merian hunting the isles is just bad RP. So I kind of expect them to get mad. They don't because either because of a good IC reason I'm not aware of, or because they're roleplaying poorly so they can go hunt merians and mess with Magnagora by doing the Gorgog quest.
