How should I have handled this?

Avaer - You're not alone in those thoughts. I instantly lose any and all respect I may have had for a person if they do that. Granted, I don't have a lot of friends, but I trust every single one of them to have my back if necessary and to not make me feel embarassed to have them as friends.

As far as the topic goes, I think you were within your rights. He was childish to say the least, and I at least would certainly issue him if there was sexual harassment going on. I have something of a zero tolerance policy as far as harassment goes in-game. Oddly enough, I've found that Administration in the games I've played have always appreciated how quick I am to report people, rather than being irritated that I do it. Probably because I nip the bud before it can piss off other people and thus hurt their player base.

I'm just guessing though.

Wow. I'd have hexlocked him, pookaed him into following me, and then gone and had him smack some gorgogs. halo.gif

All other things aside, let's get back to the original point of this topic.

Celest needs to get tougher on their lower levels. If someone even remotley dispected me or another leader in my presence, I would haveno problem in killing them, watch them conglutinate then kick and enemy from the city....no problems whatsoever.

I agree. Celest needs to stop worrying about losing people, and work on strengthening the bond with the good people. I would rather a small community of people who work well together and all head in the same direction, than a smattering of idiots ruining everything. Once Celest has the base of good people more people will come and join and want to stay.

The problem with that is we have laws against that sort of thing. If Rauros had killed Leonias, he most certainly would have been punished by the Celestian authorities, of which he is a part of by being a security officer. Honestly, I'm not a smart person and not completely sure that Rauros could get away with justifying his actions despite what Leonias did. Killing people doesn't solve anything in Celest, unfortunately. If only it were so...
Stangmar2005-12-26 18:21:05
Yeah, Celest is screwed if they keep that up. Just look forward to Hallifax or Gaudiguch for when Celest collapses.
Peeka2005-12-26 19:34:39
I think you did what you could, and that ousting him from the guild and from Celest is an acceptable response, as well as reporting his horrid behavior to the admin. The emotes that were shown in the log are just not acceptable. I think you were quite composed throughout, and he is lucky he wasn't in Serenwilde with a bunch of us sickle-wielding druids about.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's part of my RP to demand decorum and tact from my guild and commune mates. If you want to be a jerk, do it someplace else.

Then just kick, enemy, and then kill. You'd be doing worse anyway since they'd lose exp and not get suspect.

I've cussed a few times in my day, that's why I'm down 10 rolepoints ::shakes his fists at the gods::

And I would say something is gay with a Divine over my shoulder so I guess I'm good.

In my opinion, Celest is going to continue to have many problems with her citizens giving a certain level of respect to each other and outsiders for the duration. Part of the problem is that the people know the law protects them from retaliation by other citizens for disrespect. Another part is encouragement from the new path in role-play the city is taking in hating its enemies, and the last part is possibly that the people coming to the city feel it is desperate enough to allow them to act in a disrespectful manner without consequences.

Geb's solution to the problem would have been to contact one of his guild leaders. Barring one of them being around and his continued foul mouth going, Geb would have outcitizened him. If he continued his foul mouth or threatened Geb, Leonias would have been snubbed. Geb would not kill him unless he attacked his person or someone else in the city. If he did go that far he would definitely be enemied first, and then killed immediately after.

That sounds about right to me, Geb. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind if it happens again.

Again: if anyone has ANY further problems with Leonias, contact people IN FREAKING GAME. LIke me. MESSAGE Morik Leonias has . Sheesh, how hard is that.

This whole thread has been a demonstration of how bloody whiny everyone is and how completely unable ya'll seem to be in keeping things IC. KEEP. THINGS. IC. Then something might be done about it.
Leonias2005-12-27 00:00:08
Much as Xavius reccomends, I'd like to apologize for my behavior in this scenario and a few previous ones. I'll make no excuses for it, but I can say that I have no intent to act like that in the future. That's about all I can do.

If you had read the thread, you would have noticed that is what Rauros tried. He did try to contact people. He came here to ask if he role-played the situation well.

Correct idea, wrong thread to really preach that in. Rauros did handle it IC.

But it is rather annoying how some people don't do anything about things IC. I hear complaints about some of my guildmates ooc, but hardly a thing IC. Very interesting. Not to mention annoying. rolleyes.gif

I did read the thread. I didn't see any MESSAGE there, or MESSAGE there. Just the same mix of apathy, arguing and non-action.

He did try speaking to a few people about it. But let's not start squabbling with eachother about it.

I guess this is probably fine IC (well, sort of), but can I just say how much that habit PISSES me off? Especially because it's so common and flippant.

Yes, I'm overly sensitive. dry.gif

I agree. I can't STAND it when someone calls something 'gay'. NONE of the meanings of that word make ANY sense. "That sword is so gay" So that sword likes to have sex with other male swords? Or is it just really happy? It doesn't make any sense. It may be beause I have a lot of homosexual friends and I watch them get offended at it. Or I watch them start fights and kick someone's ass because they called something gay. It's NOT cool, it just makes you look stupid and igornant.
Unknown2005-12-27 05:10:02
I spoke with him about it, much more after the log that he mentioned he lost in a raid. However, I told him to message a Paladin leader as a pretty short summary of it. Anyways, I think Rauros did it well on how he plays his character, but I told him he should've handled it by just straight messaging a Paladin Knight in the game.

Leonias seems unstable enough, and I think the comment on ct to look for a leader roused him, and surely enough unjustiably and inexcusably on Leonias side. I think that part could've been avoided if he just sent a private message to a leader and let them deal with him. However, Rauros had some rage on it. Nothing wrong with the RP behind it.
