I'd love for aeon, sap and all other things that delay actions to not hinder tells, emotes and says....it prevents me from making all kinds of cool triggers, like Grrring when I get aeoned and somesuch. It'd surely add some nice flavour to fighting, at least for me.

Sure... then you see this trigger:
Tell buddy SUMMON ME

If that was really going to be a problem, a 1-2 second (whatever it is, and accounting for lag) delay wouldn't stop it and it would already be being done.
If there's any argument against this it'd be that it's just not worth the coding time. Balance issues can't really have anything to do with it.

Grrr...

The difference if that in the proposed scenario, sending a tell for someone to summon you doesn't cost anything. You could send off a cry for help and focus spirit (or whichever thing you focus) in the same round, as opposed to the status quo in which you would have to ask for help, wait 1-2 seconds, and then focus whatever.
In the current scheme of things it isn't worth the time to ask for help but such a change would make it cost nothing at all.

But this is such an insignificant detail. Are you seriously saying it's an important part of sap that it takes 1-2 seconds to call for help? Will this make the whole ability worthless and out of whack? Will it have ANY REAL EFFECT AT ALL? No it won't.
Seriously, I understand the mindset of trying to look for ways it could cause problems but this is so SMALL it really couldn't.

It was more of a reason why we don't see such a thing right now rather than why it would be detrimental to the workings of aeon and sap.
I think that summon, teleport, and flow have been beaten enough that other people knowing that you're in trouble only makes a difference in your guild champion can rescue you. But if you need rescuing then it's probably worth your 1-2 seconds to call for help.

Would be nice if look wasn't affected. I'm pretty sure sap can't slow the speed of light.

It can affect your head and eyes moving though, and you need to look around to see the whole 'room', which look does.
Well, not eyes, that'd be Aeon thing.
Sending tells without a delay should only work for sap too, Aeon alters the timestream around you so it affects your mind as well.

Great idea Ashteru, but it would inevitably get abused

But the "abuse" of this is so PETTY.240749
I think the only reason it isn't already implemented is because it would be a pain in the arse to code only specific things that get slowed, rather than just saying "all input."
Hell, my targetting gets aeon'd, and that sure as hell isn't balance issues when everyone else can be targetted on the client.
