I'm looking for /something/ that would enable me to convert .wmas into .mp3s. My PSP doesn't like .wmas so I can't put hardly any of my current ripped music onto it. If anyone knows of something, you can respond here, send me a PM or send me a tell/msg IG.
Thanks!
Thanks!

What's wrong with just using Windows Media Player?
Adee2006-01-02 04:46:42
You have to pay for the .mp3 encoding. I'm looking for something a bit more...free.

Just google it, or go to www.download.com and search. There are heaps out there but I've not tried enough to endorse any.

Try iTunes?

I did google it. But they will just mostly burn from a CD into .mp3, or they'll convert every format /except/ for .wmas...guess I'll keep looking.

iTunes converts from .wma to .aac, but doesn't have a save as feature to change them into .mp3 from there. Maybe get a file manager to change it from .aac to .mp3?

I tried that, it just messes it up.

You can just right-click on a song or a selection and select "Convert selection to mp3" from the menu that comes up... I haven't actually done it myself though.
Edit: Just tried it. Put everything you want to convert in a folder, then in iTunes choose File > Add Folder to library... and it will give you the option to convert them to mp3.

And that works with .wma's?

Yeah, I searched my computer to see if I had any. Found one and tried to open it in iTunes and it wouldn't. But adding it via the method I described in my edit worked.

Woot! Thanks!!

I seem to remember having a really good program (freeware) called Advanced WMA Workshop or something like that. Can't seem to find it, though.
I now use several retail recording/music studios (Cubase, FruityLoops, Native Instrument's Komplete bundle, SONAR, Sample Champion, etc, etc), and most of my work is in WAV, and at least one of those comes with a converter, but that's probably no use to you.
Definitely try cnet, or try google. Best way to find the stuff.

Why you have wma's instead of mp3's is mind boggling...
