As tempting as it is to jump on the 'overpowered, bizzatch!' bandwagon (NERF WTF!??as~~!), I feel inclined to ask if there's anything you could do to take out his arms Athana. Or his legs too. Maybe just stacking all those entanglements and Aeon? I mean with how some of these guys stack disabling afflictions such as those I just mentioned, I feel like it wouldn't matter if I could behead people in -one- hit. Because I'd never get to friggin' swing.

'Course, the Ravlok guy is alot more experienced than me so that might not apply to him. What about those rune things? The pacifism, then hangman, web, aeon...whatnot? You can put up some timeslip to buy some time before he's stacked on (or does assault go through that?). I don't know if you can use any of those things though.

Athana isn't a Nihilist, so she doesn't get access to pacifism, hangedman, web, or aeon.

She's not a runist either, to my knowledge, so she doesn't get those. It -is- possible to hinder a warrior this way, it just doesn't help much if they can cure at all, since hindering is specifically designed not to be able to 100% stop someone.

What about all those nifty hexes?
Ethelon2006-01-12 15:57:43
Athana is a Geomancer, she doesn't have hexes mate. She has Illusions, Telekinesis, and Geomancy itself...none of which have any hindering abilities such as you suggest.

Oh. I guess that leaves me to bandwagon.

In all seriousness, I've seen three-four threads so far about people killing too quickly with assault and runed up swords. I understand that there is a part of the IRE games that's just out to get some money (if you find that offensive, add 'for their hard work' here. But really it's not a bad thing. Heck I'd do it if I knew C++), the integrity of their games is maintained by attentive administration and the effort put towards roleplay encouragement. When it comes down to it, it seems like the only reason alot of people don't say "screw the ire games, they just want my money" is because buying credits is only a supplement in game. You can get titan/dragon, almost trans a skill and build an awesome combat system, thereby kicking ass without buying a single credit. There's also those contests to win credits, and the fact people sell credits for gold. So the issue just works itself out before it's even considered. That's why we all don't feel bad about buying a few creds here and there for this videogame.

But when those supplements purchased by credits become so beneficial that they outweigh any possible benefit gained just from hard work in an IRE game, then it's time for a Nerf. Lest that integrity be lost.

I don't know if it's really out of hand, I just got here not too long ago. But beheading in one-two hits dosn't seem right unless there are some serious factors considering, and I'm guessing Athana ain't a bad combatant at all.

I included it in my last envoy report. Let's hope the admins have the time to recognize the inherent problem with the ability and fix it.
