Combined racial stats

What makes a human so nice is the fact that they get those stats with no penalties. Their size makes them survivable to webbing and, considering warriors, their int can hold as either a nice surge bonus or a buffer for mana instakills. Meanwhile a high magic warrior can reach 18 str without any other stat ups (could've sworn I've heard Murphy praise the wounding from a 18 str warrior with scimitars).

And all this with no disadvantages. Also the xp bonus feels very nice, especialy in low levels. I know I'm happy to be one (even though being around faelings is making me drool).

Yes because that faeling is me... I think I kill things fast enough to get exp faster than most humans. Assuming that I actually go bash.

Having run my own numbers, I've decided that Viscanti do need something to be competitive, particularly the unspecialized race (which for some reason came out the worst of all races, though the two specialized forms were ok). I'd suggest the sip bonus downgraded to level 1, and the race gain overall +2 dex, +1 con, and +1 cha.

I actually think their regeneration should be downgraded a lot, because the amount of tainted areas is phenomenal. I'd suggest either level 3 health regen in taint, or level 3 health/mana in tainted urban and wasteland.

My calculations also suggested that Aslaran, Dracnari, Dwarf, and Trill all might need considering in terms of increasing their stats to boost their viability, while Shadowlords, Tae'dae, Krokani, Igasho and Shadowcasters lead the racial field.

Of course, all my numbers were probably incorrectly weighted and so on, but I found it interesting:

Offensively best races:
1) Imperial Merian
2) Mugwump
3) Merian/High Elfen
4) Shadowlord
5) Shadowcaster

Defensively best races:
1) Igasho
2) Tae'dae
3) Krokani
4) Brood Viscanti
5) Dwarf

Best misc bonus races:
1) Faeling
2) Shadowcaster
3) Shadowlord
4) Tae'dae
5) Furrikin

Meh, I was bored. tongue.gif

Inaccurate on a few points, aslarans don't need upgrades for one, tae'dae aren't in the good races area for the reason that defense still needs offence, and many other thingies..

I agree with Ciaran, I would say that loboshigaru is the best 'defensive' race - and its not even on your list.

meh.
Narsrim2006-02-17 18:23:07
Aslaran definately do not need upgrades.
Sylphas2006-02-17 18:33:58
If Imperial Merian beats Mugwump, you're weighting speed too lightly.

And the fact that humans own all, especially at higher levels. An exp bonus might seem nice when your young, but it comes into play especially when it's an extra 17-20% you don't have to make per level after 90, which is a ton of mobs to save on. Not to mention the stats rock

You wildly jab a silver hunter's rapier at a ravenous fesix. You plunge your
blue diamond into him, driving it deep.
The point of the blade thrusts through a ravenous fesix's body and emerges from
his back, jolting him upright as an expression of horror crosses his face. He
finally slides off the blade, dropping to the ground with a thud.
You have slain a ravenous fesix.
Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have
advanced to level 99.
You have reached the illustrious level of Titan.

Congratulations by the way.

I want to get this right, I have heard level 1 racial bonuses give you 7-8% extra, so a Human with Harmony, 21-24% increase in xp? Also, what is all the boost for a level 80 human with Athletics, Blademaster, and Sacraments??

NECRO DOUBLE POST!!:

Human who has 16 str, dex, and con 13 int, 12 charisma, I have slightly figured out (disregarding the buffs)

can get..

20 str (Flex, Geburah, Hereofete, 21 with a lucky fortuna) 14 dex (Fortuna NOTE: Only goes to once stat once so meh) 17 con (herofete, weathering) 13 int and 12 charis. 9 size with a blasted make you smaller enchantment, but you could also change the constitution bigger but lose one strength if you have less stuff
