Back to Common Grounds.

I would just like to announce that, after about 11 years of trying, I finally have charybon, mactans, niricol, ibululu, morphite, and dendroxin in my hands all at once for the first time ever.

All you poisonists who heard me but didn't help me can just stick it somewhere unpleasant.
Murphy2006-01-04 04:35:48
damn you coudld've asked me, i'm not a poisonist and i have a few of each of those

We need more poisonists or those that are to be around AT THE SAME FRIGGING TIME THAN ME! sad.gif I never manage to buy anything from Tias.. or not often anyway.
Murphy2006-01-04 10:56:54
ask me for poisons in game, i'd be more than happy to send a few vials your way, i wont even charge you for em.

Only catch is, they come on the end of 2 hammers

No good telling -her- that, now is it? tongue.gif

Calm down. When the people who are supposed to be 'heavy users of poisons' (If Druids with Ecology aren't that already) we'll see an increase in poisonists.

The major problem with being a Toxicologist (Poisonist just sounds stupid) is that you HAVE to be a serious basher to get full access to your trade skill. Its the only trade skill that is entirely dependent on your skill to do something else entirely, not to mention your willingness to.

As much as I hate stealing from the other games, the way Imperian handles it is better, having 5 toxin producing creatures that are bashable really easily at level 20+ and you have to combine the toxins in certain quantities to make the poisons.

I've never been at a loss for poisons.

And, fair warning, Fetish DOES use up your poisons in the arena.

If you don't want to bash, then just buy the corpses from other people. Plenty of people in Celest and Magnagora who bash Lyndwyrms or mantas for experience.

Or even just ask nicely for the corpses.

Other tradeskills depend on other people or other skills to work, by the way. Jewelry and tailoring need commodities; cooking needs commodities and herbs. Alchemy needs herbs. Enchanters need Powerstones (Anyone suggesting enchanting from reserves is insane). Herbalists need good Planar to get several herbs. Artisans and Bookbinders consume obscene amounts of wood. Poisons might just be the most self-sufficient tradeskill there is, since you only need bashing skills (Which everyone has) and Planar to Elemental.
Unknown2006-01-04 17:19:54
Not exactly, it'd be like with Herbs where you need to be able to survive Astral to get sparkleberries. In case of poisons, you need scorpions for one of the most useful venoms I believe (though, true, you could buy them from someone else).
Serrin2006-01-04 21:01:03
If there are any high ranked toxicologists around who need corpses for venoms I'd gladly give them. Just seems like there aren't any in Glomdoring whenever I offer.

Terenas2006-01-04 21:04:27
I offer to sell poisons all the time, I just rarely ever get any customers. sad.gif

Message him. He gets it. You mail gold. He mails poisons. You get letter. Problem solved.
