Hajamin has been fired.

I was just trying to see if this could be avoided in the future. I don't really know what motivated Hajamin, or if Amaru was the type to abuse an order or not.

It's mostly a suggestion for the divine to consider in the future.

cheers.gif to Hajamins silliness.

24 hours it is. Fun or cry it up as ya will, life still goes on. I'm goin to bed before I say somethin else rather cold and heartless.

Well when i first read this thread, i wanted to post some snide comment because i didn't like hajamin icly. But really its not needed anything i could have said has been said. So to his order members sorry you lost a divine. Hopefully in the future they will replace him, heck and all the other inactive gods. Thats one of my pet peeves, inactive gods not getting replaced just a new random god thrown into the mix.

Well maybe this was all for the best, if he was caught doing this who knows what he might have tried to do if he got away with it.

Rofl..

Marcalo, Suhnaye..

What the heck is with your sigs, guys?

(To a lesser extent, others also)

(Moved from another thread. I posted in the wrong one originally.)

Since some are wondering about Sarapis being on this thread... It is the real Sarapis. Technically he is Lusternia's official manager for the business side of things even though you don't see him on the game and creative side of things that impact players directly, so he's the one who has final say in matters like this. What he has posted in this thread is correct. I also agree with much of the player sentiment here. I will miss him as much as anyone else and wish him well wherever he goes to next. I also hope he learned an important lesson to take with him in his future jobs.

As for people asking about future coders, many coders we have had in the past were not high profile like Lisaera and Hajamin. So you probably will not notice what's going on in that area as has traditionally been the case when coders get shuffled around. It is being examined, though, coincidentally before this problem had actually been known by us.

Do you understand that your suggestions have nothing to do with the issue at hand? Hajamin didn't remove Amaru's privs because he was worried that after 30? in game years of Terentia's inactivity, he was going to abuse them. Come off of it, seriously . rolleyes.gif

Oh and a portion you missed from Terentia's help file:

QUOTE
She shows little regard for those who have succumbed to the Taint, considering them significant only long enough to destroy them. As a result, She displays utter disdain for those of the viscanti race.

I think some of you are overlooking the fact that people obviously have strong feelings about certain divinities both ICly and OOCly that are very hard to change even if the person playing that particular god changes. As such, I would imagine finding someone to replace an inactive god who has stepped on a lot of toes or who just was never well liked in general is a rather cumbersome task. Also, I would imagine it's very difficult to take over a role and play it in the same fashion that another person did. You are almost always able to tell when the person playing a character changes, and I personally feel that it's even more detrimental to roleplaying than just killing off the god and introducing a new one. Yes, it's painful to the god's followers, but it keeps them from clinging pointlessly to gods that probably won't ever have anyone playing them again.

Also, inactive gods have no control over what their order (or lack thereof) is doing, because they're just that -- inactive. Terentia likely has absolutely no idea what Amaru is doing, but then again, Amaru probably can't do that much, since he seems to be the only active order member and thus can only do what he himself can scratch together the essence for. In that sense, I think Amaru probably earns his right to fully use his order powers, considering the fact that it's highly unlikely Terentia amassed enormous stores of essence before disappearing. However, on the other hand, I'm sure a lot of people feel like Amaru deserves a good beating.

That said, it's a pity that Lusternia has lost a very active coder and that Celest is losing what is probably the last thing that gave their belief system any sense of cohesion. However, I'm going to have to agree with Malicia on this one and say that the actions Hajamin took could not be simply outweighed by the things he has done for the game.

Seriously guys, these signatures are beyond a joke.

Marcalo's takes up the whole of my 17" monitor at 1024/860.
Gwylifar2006-01-06 18:13:07
You can turn off signatures in your control panel. Try it, you won't go back.
Unknown2006-01-06 18:32:38
Darn, just turn of the signatures in My Controls.

If its just one or two sigs that's causing your grief and you have Firefox, just left click the image and block it.

Yeah, really sorry to see him go. He's been pretty fun, like the time he rescued me and Dumihru when we were suddenly trapped underground on the Water Plane. Really feel sorry for Celest for losing a Patron and his order members.
Arix2006-01-06 19:30:37
I just noticed this thread so I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, but...
WHAT?!
Lisaera2006-01-06 19:45:33
To address the main two concerns of the people in this thread:

Yes, it's a blow to lose such a major coder. No, the world is not going to end. We have, as Roark said, had coders no one or almost no one knew about, who have come and left, we may well get another one soon, but if we do not, we will survive.

Yes, it's a problem that Celest only has one active God now, and we will of course try to remedy this, but how and when is absolutely not decided nor will it be until an opportunity presents itself.

Finally, to give a comment on all this transgression vs work done nonsense - Hajamin was one of the best coders and general developers we've had and are likely to have for some time, and if there was any other choice I assure you that the decision wouldn't have been taken to fire him. However, there simply wasn't any other choice for Matt, Estarra and Roark.

As I have said before, nobody is happy about this, but it had to be done.

Sorry, but you can't blame him for any of this.

Mabye this'll be a lesson for Lusternia, and IRE players. Being with the best, but that person being a complete ass and abuses anything he can get his hands on, and is the true definition of a metagamer, and is not a team player, then don't hire that person.

The Philidelphia Eagles found that out with T.O., and now Lusternia is finding that out with Hajamin. I hated him in Aetolia, I hated him as a Celani in Aetolia, and glad he was fired there. I hated him in Lusternia as his char, as his emphermeal, and the person behind it.
