Oh, and to correct myself, Drawdown is not consistant resistance. It's 21-25% against physical, 33% against magical. I'll get the other resistances soon, when I have the time. I'll also try to figure out why drawdown's resistance verses physical is based on if I have barkskin or not raised - I think physical resistance just stacks weirdly. So, in other words, it isn't QUITE as overpowered for bashing as I thought

Are you sure you're not counting maidenblessing/moonaura by accident there? Hmm.

Magic resistance for moondancers:
inept magic vs Moonburst (18 int, trans moon)
718 damage (robes + aura + maiden)
821 damage (robes + aura)
913 damage (aura + maiden)
952 damage (robes + maiden)
1045 damage (aura)
1071 damage (robes)
1191 damage (maiden)
1324 damage (nothing)
452 damage (drawdown + aura + robes + maiden) (37% reduction)
571 damage (drawdown + aura + robes) (30.5% reduction)
635 damage (drawdown + aura + maiden) (30.5% reduction)
702 damage (drawdown + maiden + robes) (27% reduction)
767 damage (drawdown + aura) (26.5% reduction)
821 damage (drawdown + robes) (23.5% reduction)
913 damage (drawdown + maiden) (23.5% reduction)
1045 damage (drawdown) (21% reduction)
This... makes no sense to me. I don't get how magic defence works. Apparently, the more you have, the better it is.

Thanks a lot Shorlen.
Would a Human MoonSerenguard be good or not..?

Pretty good I'd say. You'll start off rather slow, but with some hard work (and maybe credits - those can't hurt), you can get rolling.
Murphy2006-01-09 23:51:17
To be honest, the best combo for PVP i would say is a bonecrusher Serenguard (moon spec).
Go a tanky race like orclach or something with good con and resistances with no balance penalty for the lower levels, once you get to 60 or so, go aslaran.
Reason being, serenguard get aeon, which you can stack on when they have 2 levels of stupidity, slickness (which has to be removed before the fractureskull stupidy can be cured) and concussion, for a slowlock similair to the shaman one in achaea.
Also, as an aslaran bonecrusher you can really lay on the stun and knockdowns and lay on some heavy offence, especially with crush which bypassed rebounding stances parry and even prismatic.

I'll only beable to afford 200-300 credits..I'm guessing this will limit the classes I can be good as..?
Unknown2006-01-10 18:50:21
You can earn credits ICly. I buy about 10 per day with gold. Its definitely doable if you dedicate enough time to it.
Unknown2006-01-10 20:17:33
What's that from, bashing?
Unknown2006-01-10 20:22:27
Bashing, Influencing, and Questing can make you alot of gold, yes.
Ekard2006-01-10 20:22:47
Bashing, questing, trade skill.
Unknown2006-01-10 21:06:06
Okay, which classes would be best if you were just starting with 200 credits, then?
Torak2006-01-10 21:18:06
I'd say a mage, you could get your staff with that and have pretty good bashing. Plus if you wanted to start on pvp they are fairly easy.

I'm as good as omni trans with several artifacts.. and only credits that were ever bought on my account was 40 (to get the never delete thing).
It's quite possible to do it.
Shryke2006-01-11 07:14:46
I doubt you got many of your credits from the new astral, and with credits at 4k though did you?

Credits at 4k per.. several. A lot to be exact. And the new Astral mobs don't drop gold at all anymore, so no can't get any from there. But there are several other places by now that you can time and whore and thus make a lot of gold if you wanted to.. I just have no reason to anymore.
Serrin2006-01-11 16:35:23
Yeah, you just gotta time and whore them when I'm not around

Probably. Maybe even more exp if you empower them to raise their level first.
Of course, there aren't any good influencing spots and it generally takes more time and money to influence rather than bash.

Time, perhaps. I quest a lot in between too (pilgrims, village quests) to raise karma so I can keep my beauty blessing up, and as a furrikin influencer (no guild skills) I do pretty well. Still getting several percent per monk in Tosha, plus a good 20% or more from individual villages. Haven't really been counting.
I also influence pilgrims as I collect them, they're worth a good percent or so at level 59, plus any gold they may have, plus the 100 gold once you reach the Peak. I make more than enough gold to keep me stocked up on bromides and a few enchantments (beauty, mercy and perfection just in case, and a few others) and the denizens reset a lot faster than if I'd killed them.
Unknown2006-01-11 19:15:06
How do blessings work?
Vix2006-01-11 22:47:08
In Lusternia, there are waaaay way many buffs compared to the other IRE muds. Karma is gained from doing quests or offering corpses, and when you have 50%, you can get a blessing. It lasts for 24 hours logged in and every hour it subtracts a percent for every blessing you currently have. The most useful ones are Knowledge (+2 Int), Harmony (more exp), Life (more health), War (more damage), and Beauty (+2 Cha).
