Okay, guys, so... I use Nexus to play, because I'm always hopping computers and don't have a way to take anything else with me. But for the last few days, it seems like there has been some -significant- slowdown in it. It doesn't matter what computer or network I'm on when I'm playing. It's been running sooo slow, especially when I'm off-Prime.

Anybody know what the hang-up is, because it's really starting to mess me up. I was almost killed by a dream leech yesterday because of it, and that kinda irks me, yanno? Any ideas?

Happens a lot actually and doesnt matter where you are.

It's not unique to Nexus, either. It's a characteristic of Java programs in general. It's a very low-performance platform.

Solution? Standalones.

Yeah, nexus lags for me too, even though I put my triggers in the <> things... But it seems to fix it when I shrink from the big window to the small window, although it lags there too... Not sure why...

After my third near-death to a leech (and one to a -cow-, for goodness' sake...) I finally decided to retire Nexus and move on to bigger and better things. So I've spent the last... 8 hours or so... playing/coding with Zmud, and I already have a smoother system than I had in my month on Nexus. I'm totally going to get addicted and have to pay to register. Dang it.

A couple of days ago, I was getting some mean lag as well (and I never ever have lag). Was more like aeon in that I would input my command... wait a bit... then it would happen. Not sure if that's normal lag anyways. I'm lag-free as of now.

Anyone know of a free system and mind telling me how to get it?

Use mushclient, unlike zmud you dont have to pay to use some of its functions that I know of.

On the subject of Nexus, is anyone having it so that after something shows up theres an empty line?

Yes, and no I don't think you can fix it, respectively.

MAYBE it happens if you put too many enters in your aliases or something, but that wouldn't explain it in your example.

I used gmud for a good while, before I got zmud from a friend. Its nice and simple, although it can't do much. If you aren't into high skill combat where you need a fancy curing system, might be worth checking out.
