i'm not so sure the dark spirit is evil though... since it seems that Roark did something bad and the spirit is trying to warn the other Elders. So, if anything, Roark is the evil Elder

Though many questions remained unanswered. What is this dark spirit? ... Will it return, or will Lusternia someday be able to chase it through the aetherways?

How do you know the spirit wasn't lying?
Unknown2006-01-09 12:16:21
Judging by Roark's eagerness to quickly hush up any questions

I mentioned it at the Aetherplex when Roark took off to fix Jacques... but a lie cannot be unspoken. Lost trust is never fully regained because always, a corner of the mind turns back to "But there was that incident..." Sure, he may be guilty of something. But just he may not be, too.
Daganev2006-01-09 19:37:37
and as I said, our imagination of what 'really happened' will probabbly always be worse than what would have been said.
for example, Daganev now belives that Roark made a pact with the soulless to integrate them into the fabric of creation so that Estarra can't destroy them completely in exchange for being able to free Estarra and get all the fame and credit of saving the world, while actually putting the world into constant conflict.

Well you know that the Soulless were sealed away over 600 years before the coming of Estarra..600 years in the very least because unless someone asked, I for one dont know how many years passed after the Fall whether the release was right after or some time after someone would have to add in.
Roark has some secrets He doesnt want out lets go pester Him some

Kalo's theory is that Raezon and Fain were not the only ones whom attempted to use the Soulless. And it's plausable, as well - and simply logical. Too much untapped power NOT to intrigue a few of the Fifth Circle, I bet.
Who knows. But it did seem as though it was a god of some sort - too much of what was said hinted at it. Although that doesn't mean it wasn't a Half-Formed or a Soulless Roark destroyed. It's unhealthy hatred for the dwarf was rather queer, so I wonder if Clangorum wasn't worked into it, as well.
Roark isn't perfect. He was a Thinker. I would actually be surprised if there wasn't some failed experiments - perhaps He was attempting some sort of experiment in the Void, with another Elder God, and they were weakened. Or He and another Elder God were fighting a Soulless, and Roark sacrificed the other God - who knows. So many possibilities.
But as Lisaera said to Shorlen a few times - do not assume.
