Transmigration

I've heard a lot of people complaining that transmigration is too strong and or imbalanced. In order to keep my favourite skill intact and working the way it does I suggest this nerf.

I suggest that there be a skill in dicipline or dicoernment or some kind of means that allows someone to cleave an ecologist from their bond.

I suggest an attack where they have to get the ecologist below a certain amount of mana and then they are able to cancle out the bond and then kill them.

To recover the bond if they excape the killing the ecologist must then go find their bond animal and deepbond once more.

I don't think there should be a special skill in common skillsets just to affect one guild ability.

Could always make it so you lose some little experience, like Conglutination for prime. But I guess you'd be against that.

Yep.

Ya I dont think that should be a 'common' thing unless it works on liches as well

Apart from having it hit you with temporary stat loss or giving you pacifism for a set period of time, there isn't really much you could do to balance Transmigration a bit, and throwing either of them in there would result in more whining than goes on in this forum for a week.

Give it to warriors then. They like to cleave things.

blink.gif Liches get a stat increase.. transmigration gets a stat decrease.. brilliant!

The way transmigration works makes it tricky to come up with some sort of decent counter to it. But there's no denying that in its current state it's very unbalanced. At least lichdom has some sort of risk (however small it's perceived), any druid with a clue will keep their pets locked up somewhere safe like a stockroom or manse.
Munsia2006-01-10 19:20:57
I'd settle for it not making you 'reform' somewhere safe as long as your animal isnt killable.

Define safe then? How exactly would that work?
Munsia2006-01-10 19:24:59
You dont understand transmigration do you?
We reform into our animals wherever they are. we cant take them into battle because they die in 1-2 hits from a damn level 2 newbie. Make them unkillable and I'll be happy.

Safe being manses, guildhalls, and anti-violence rooms.

Lichdom's stat increase (+2 40% of the time, -1 60% of the time) means it BARELY clears the stage where its worse for your stats than better. And the reason I said a temporary loss is because when you transmigrate - you transmigrate OUT of combat, with absolutely zero chance of you getting killed again (where if you die with lich up in a fight it means you are about to lose a hell of a lot more xp) and the only way to balance it is either to impose penalties while its up, or wait until its triggered (and you are safe) and then imposing penalties.

make it local area only as long as you make our animals unkillable. Like I said.
edit: oh and the ability to call our bonds across planes

What about having them be trapped in their animal body for 5-15 minutes after they transmigrate before they are reborn into their body? Allow them the capability to speak and emote, but not use channels. Might be interesting?
Unknown2006-01-10 19:29:54
I know how it works.
You'd leave your animal in commune, and it would be unkillable anyway, where's the risk?

not for 5-15 minutes. that'd just be pointless to even use transmigration

.... I'm talking about so we arent safe anymore when we reform.
Is anyone listening to anything I'm saying?
Unknown2006-01-10 19:31:32
And there's no point if the time is less, because then its not a drawback. You could still RP for those 5-15 minutes, since you could speak and emote. Oh, wait, silly me.. this isn't an RPG or anything.

How are you not safe in your own commune?
Local area (I didn't see it yet as I was posting already) could work I guess.
