Actually, not normally, but had lots of friends come over and was grabbing drinks.

auto-bashing is when my system does everything for me...having a trigger that hits after I recover balance is not auto-bashing

Apparently it's fine as long as you have to initiate it, and then it kills everything for you- it just can't walk around hunting / linking / etc, and you need to start the attacks. *shrug*
Geb2006-01-12 03:27:22
I believe the simple solution to this problem is prohibit the use of stone/ice walls in any room that has a barrier up in it. This would then allow the person to use tackle or gust on an enchantment ring to stop the chasm process. As long as geomancers are able to place stone walls alongside the use of the barrier, warriors will be relegated to only one option: Kill the mage. I do not believe that should be their only means of defeating a barrier-chasm setup.
Munsia2006-01-12 03:28:18
and doors?
Narsrim2006-01-12 03:29:21
Not to mention that gust can be resisted quite a bit.

Wouldn't it be easier and just as effective to magelock?

I agree with Geb, that sounds fair

Most things can be resisted. The recovery for gust is a base 3 seconds. You have 3 to 4 chances to get it right.
To Munsia:
If he closes and magelocks a door on you, he does not have to waste 10 power on a barrier, now does he?
Unknown2006-01-12 03:36:14
Aye, and I know of no way to get out of a magelocked, monolithed room anyway. There's no point in using barrier.

Couldn't you envenom the sword with niricol? that way to cure his blindness he would have to cure deafness as well, then hit him with the scroll and run
Malicia2006-01-12 03:55:54
It was an option. I never said that there was no possible way out of the situation. They were sloppy about it and I didn't take advantage, because I was feeling slightly overwhelmed at the time.

Read the former posts, please.
While yes, you could hit with niricol. The geomancer could then eat bog, eat bog, sip tertrodin and instantly have deafness back up. If you hit with niricol mid-chasm, the geomancer doesn't have to cure it for chasm to proceed.

You eat a stalk of faeleaf.
You now possess the gift of the sixth sense.
You may eat or smoke another herb.
You eat a bog myrtle leaf.
Hearing returns, though you no longer see the world through the sixth sense.
You eat a bog myrtle leaf.
Blessed sight returns to you.
You eat a bog myrtle leaf.
You may eat or smoke another herb.
This seems like an error to me, eating myrtle obviously consumes herb balance, but it doesn't actually check to see if you have herb balance in the first place.

It only does it for blindness/deafness, I believe. I reported it a long time ago so I assume at this point, it is intentional.

Well...
You eat a bunch of pennyroyal.
You eat a bunch of pennyroyal.
The plant has no effect.
You may eat or smoke another herb.
As you can see above, when I ate the third myrtle it didn't give the "has no effect" message, even though I had no blindness or deafness at the time. Are you sure it's only for those two? It just looks like it doesn't check at all.

Do mages have judgement? I didn't think so tell me again why this is relevant?
As for the Inquisition argument, you are just playing with words now as all of your former arguments have been torn apart. The fact of the matter is that you can't be held in a room for Inquisition because Guardians don't have barrier so again, this doesn't relate.
And no, if someone is a decent level - you'll never take them down first (and knocking someone prone doesn't cancel chasm). All in all, you are basically adding nothing productive except fantasy based expectations of how you *might* kill them when they can *always* kill you.

narsrim you're very good at missing the point aren't you. I'm bringin up tactics that MALICIA could use as a paladin against chasm, trying to help HER out for next time, don't flatter yourself Narsrim i'm not trying to argue with you here, in fact your opinion on this matter means little.

Murphy, stop being silly. How can Malicia use judgement on a geomancer when at any point, the Geomancer can web her to cancel it and then just restart chasm?
Seriously, she could kick the geomancer too. It'd be almost as effective as trying to judgement in barrier.
