I was wondering how would you rate the level of Rp in your own guild and place of residence...
your thoughts?
thanks in advance.

The Geomancers are getting better.. though we're still not a patch on some of the best RPing guilds.

... by some freakish mischance, we keep getting Elfen/Merian novices. Which is quite simply one of the most annoying things in the world. We get few enough novices as it is.. and then Aiakon has to erupt in fury and spit on their little grey garments while I soothe in tells and ask if they'd like to reincarnate.. and we lose another one. *sigh*

I haven't been in any other Guild or City/Commune as of yet, but the Ebonguard have been good to me thus far, and seem solid in terms of RP - and Glomdoring even more so.

Rafael always has faith in the Paladin's to do as he'd hope they would do, but any problems with that Rafael has blamed on Hajamin.

Ok, Geos, get it. Viscantis are ugly. Elfen and Merian aren't ugly. It's all reduced to that wink.gif

Look at WoW, as the horde has no night elves nor blonde athletic male paladins their numbers are much inferior to the Alliance. Why being an undead when you can be an astonishing elf who also can dance much better?

So, to solve all of this, I suggest the Geos asking for a furrikin specialization so they can increase their numbers wink.gif

PS: Yeah, I am kidding. No, I don't hate Geomancers. Yes, I am a defender of furrikin invasion of Magnagora.

unfortuneatly, the ebonguard have the lowest amount of RP within the Glomdoring.. fortuneatly, we have the structure and background to increase that RP anytime the members want to do so!

That said, compared to other places I've seen, I think Ebonguard have a lot of RP. Just imagine what the rest of Glomdoring is like!

I'm not happy that one of the few org RPs we do have is being thrown away, but eh. Have to try and fix it IC. happy.gif

Oh yes, nightelves are AWESOME at dancing. But then, male undead have that rocker-style dancing and female taurian aren't bad either. wub.gif

Roleplay in Glomdoring is great, quite a few of us do custom emotes.
Unknown2006-01-13 18:38:43
Glomdoring rp is the best! I'm thoroughly enjoying myself.

I can't work out whether this statement is the product of an odd sense of humour, ignorance, or just stupidity O.o

I don't understand how rp can be the best.

Perhaps they have the best culture or something but as long as everyone around is roleplaying I don't understand how you can measure it to other roleplay. Maybe Glomdoring has a scene that is much more fun to play right now but it doesn't make it the Best roleplay.

Only way roleplay can be judge is if you are doing or if you are not and if you aren't roleplaying it isn't bad roleplay. You just aren't roleplaying and that is bad enough.

I thoroughly agree.

My example of bad RP: Dearsest Lady, Telleth me hows I can increase my greatness in though eyes and get five truefavours, and kill anybody I see. Also if it pleases thou, can I haveth the instructions on how to do the estalbar questest.

If its not bad RP, its bad Lusternia gameplay RP.

Ewwww! At least try to make it somewhat real instead of just adding "eth" and "est" to the end of things! Questest? Oi!

I wouldn't call it bad rp. He could be roleplaying an idiot. Or a jester.
Unknown2006-01-13 19:17:15
Of course there can be bad RP.

No RP is bad if it's in character, consistent, logical.

Sadly enough, many people don't go with this. I measure RP by the reasoning behind things. Sure, a Jester can have good RP, if that's his thing, but he has to be consistent with that.

The preceding was a post from a near-novice and may not agree with the beliefs of the Glomdoring, its affliates, or its sponsors. sleep.gif

I'm with Daganev on the bad roleplaying. This is often a discussion I have with my best friend, we can't stand people that roleplay like that. To say Glomdoring has the best roleplay is the sum of many things:

1. Everyone participates in the roleplay

2. The characters are real and believeable

3. The infrastructure is complex

4. The histories are well written and interesting

I have started a new character in every place and I found Glomdoring the most fun.
Daganev2006-01-13 19:40:08
What I wrote is bad RP for several reasons. One.. asking for quest information. Two, having no desire to actuallly have a reason behind the actions, just a desire to "kill stuff"m and Three, having HORRIBLE old english... Lusternia even has a help file about that.

I could have written that in elite speak. Just because its a poor attempt at talking "fantasy style" without having any real meaning behind it, in my mind does not mean its Roleplaying. To me that just makes it worse. But asking for quest info, and just wanting to 'kill stuff' is the definition of bad RP from what I can tell the Lusternia rules state.
