Now, I love the new WHO highlighting feature, but I wanted to be able to just highlight people, without making them enemies or allies. There are plenty of people around whom I need to talk to occasionally, and I generally can't ally them because they're in a another org or because my ally list is full. This would work just like ALLY/ENEMY, but its only effect would be that people in that list would be displayed in another colour. No effect on combat or anything. Please?

you could just do it yourself by capturing and highlighting using whatever client you run in.
Shiri2006-01-13 02:03:27
Even using Nexus you can just
#highlight "14 on 2"
or whatever.
#highlight "14 on 2"
or whatever.

I like how they give people colors stating what org they belong to during wild nodes, why don't they do that for the rest of the year too?
or atleast highlight all org enemies and org members ... then we can say .. welcome to seizure land!

I don't like the idea of system-coded org member colours, it makes it just a little too obvious who is who.

That reminds me, for some reason the people I've allied/defended, and sometimes just people from my commune and guild will appear as pure black spaces on the who list. Like I have to highlight the text to read it. The heck is that?

Use CONFIG COLOUR to change the ally/enemy list to happy green and angry red.

Interesting that green is good and red is bad... I wonder if it reveals a subtle environmental bias that is evident in our culture? (Which would be a good thing!)
One might suspect that red is good and green bad, for human-centrics, perhaps?
But see, even the fundamental design of Lusternia is built around Serenwilde (green) being the best possible state to be in.

I wonder how far back the red = bad thing goes. Communism, anyone?

Oooh, good point. Though wouldn't we expect blue=good in that case? (since I don't think many big western countries have greenish national colours)
Unknown2006-01-13 04:32:57
Hey I did not think that far into my theory, leave my crack-pot ideas alone .
Verithrax2006-01-13 06:39:44
Actually, I was thinking of traffic lights. The neutral highlight thingy would be yellow. Red is also usually associated with warnings because it's usually the first colour our eyes pay attention to.
Daganev2006-01-13 20:15:19
Red=blood Green=default mud colors.
See, if you can honours someone and it shows them as either part of -your- org, or shows them as an enemy to -your- org, it would be nice to have them system color coded.
I agree that random people should not be auto color coded so that they can "be stealthy" by changing thier titles.
But in group combat, the colors add such a bonus to the ability to fight its almost unfair that Nexus can't highlight variables or huge string lists.

Red just stands out more on the dull backgrounds of most clients, and your usally more worried or interested in seeing your enemies than an ally.
Murphy2006-01-14 15:37:22
yeh i have all combatants i find listed in red so i know who's trying to nail me.
strangely enough, the people i have listed as 'kill on sight' are red too, adding to much confusion hence i usuallyr esort to kill em all and let avenger sort them out.

Purple is my ally colour. I like purple Orange is my enemy colour.
Urath2006-01-14 17:22:17
I leave my allies and guild members at red as a force of habit. I have city members white and I have my enemies blue. So, in my case, red=Good and blue=bad.

I think what your after here is somthing like MARK which they have in Imperian with its own config color option
Iridiel2006-01-18 17:09:22
Yes, it's the mark command. Really useful for when you're supposed to do bussines with somebody, who obviously doesn't need to be an ally for you.
