Lusternia on the Xbox

I was just thinking about Lusternia on the Xbox. It would be a mixture of the systems of Morrowind (for magic users) and Fable (for warriors). It would be more quest based and you could sign many of the characters in our beloved game as bodyguards. Along the quest lines, you would have to pick a city to join and you would have to work for the Guild you join or the government in general. There would be a renown system so you would have to gather fame to join orders and get higher positions in guilds. That would only scratch the surface. Of course there would be influencing along with (maybe) new features like staging coups. I know I would play it. smile.gif

You know, I've always thought about how a graphical version of an IRE realm would work out. Granted, it would be awesome to visually see certain things, but I think it would end up being very similar to all the other crappy MMO's out there.

I think that it would be crummy because, well, text games generally attract a different kind of person then, say, Everquest. I'm not saying that all people who play MUDs are extremely smarter then those who prefer your average graphical MMO, but it -does- require a certain amount of imagination, obviously.

I think that most people play MMORPGs for the community aspect of things, which IRE creates perfectly. I would be sad to see an IRE graphical MMO that was overrun with retards. "omfg gold plz," is one of the main reasons I -don't- play graphical MMO's. Although to be perfectly honest I will try out Ragnarok Online 2 when it comes out, as I wasted a good deal of time on the first.

Whats with people saying that lusty should have graphics lately? Thats actually part of the whole appeal of the game - there are no graphics, and with that no graphical limitations.

Yeah...graphics would just turn it into another World of Warcraft or something like that.

I mean. It would be cool to see the world of Lusternia in a game and run around in it, but I wouldn't actually want Lusternia to be graphical tongue.gif.

Hey man I loved Fable, that'd be awesome if our physical features changed based on a quasi-alignment statistic which decided how "tainted" or "pure" you were(Preferably based on all current factors in the game that effect karma and more. Depending on the 'quasi-alignment' of the denizen or player-character you kill, your own quasi-alignment leans further towards 'pure' or 'tainted' in an according amount, other factors may be quests - whereas becoming a slavemaster of angkrag dishes you alot of taint, saving the turtle by leading it to it's mommy or tending the tae'dae cubs gives you more light-side stuff. I realize the reason we avoid alignment type things is because we don't want classic ignorance and idiocy to be compelled for a 'good' and 'evil' environment, but the amusing thing is is that we could cater to the better aspects of alignment systems while still keeping their effects purely cosmetic or not directly functional with the prime scripts in the game: That is to say, just because you're tainted dosn't mean you're 'evil', as we say IC already). Except in Fable if you were "tainted" you had to grow horns and be bald, which was fairly lame. Not all evil people are fugly.

I know. I mean in Harry Potter, Tom Riddle (Voldemort) was really hot (or handsome, whichever you prefer). But then of course since he was evil he had to turn into a grotesque fetus-thing.

Evil people do, however, attract flies, as proven by Fable.

IRE put out an add looking for a lead art designer with experience producing AAA games. Thus the speculation and random ideas people are throwing out.

Graphical games are almost getting to the point where you can actually have the dynamicness of a MUD, especially with the abilities of graphics cards to process graphics on the fly.
