Yes Igasho can be good, just not the best. It willl be to easy to hinder your and slow your attack enough to not get beaten by Igasho.

Yeah, I already had problems with getting out of getting webwhored as size 13.

I can only get down to size 15... When I was fighting a celestine, I got out of web easily, I don't know why, long time ago, think there was a bug.

but isn't there now a cap on size-based writhing? So its not as bad any more? Didn't that help the big races at all?

Any smart Igasho realizes that (unless they happen to be a big fan of headslamming) tipheret or summer is a good bit faster than writhing. Of course, there is crucifixion and impalement, but the writhe cap does help a good bit.
