I'm not a fighter, but I'm thinking about investing in some of the critical hit artifacts. They do work against mobs, right? I'm for anything that will speed up my hunting time.

Thanks,
Endless, the clueless.

Yep, they do.
Soll2006-01-17 20:02:21
Critical hits only affect mobs.
Richter2006-01-17 20:34:58
Right, they would have no effect versus players.
Unknown2006-01-17 20:44:45
Oh cool, thanks.
Narsrim2006-01-17 20:47:13
To be completely honest, if you want a boost you'd be better off to get a torc instead of +criticals.

What's your race, class and level?

You're such an uber cutie wub.gif

I should start phrasing questions like that, then people would think I was cute. smile.gif

Unless you're a knight, then the torc would probably be the best way to go. If you can get to the point where you can sip health quicker than a single of X type of creature can hit you, then your hunting speed will increase significantly

If by significantly you mean not very much then yes. We are talking bonuses like 2-6 more criticals out of 100. That's not what I call "significant."
Xavius2006-01-18 00:07:56
I think he means being able to sip faster than the damage-per-second of a critter significantly increases hunting speed.
Athana2006-01-18 00:35:59
I'm not sure what class your character is but as a mage with both a torc and a medal I think the torc is far more worth it.

Level 50 Aslaran Shadowdancer

Definately the Torc of life. Fewer sips... your critical rate even with a 6% medal won't make that astounding of a difference compared to being able to tank more.
Unknown2006-01-18 06:00:58
Sounds good. Thanks

harmony and knowledge blessing. In case of artifacts, go for a torc. That one will help you in hunting but as well in fighting (unlike a medal).

Aside from the fact of course that I personally think Mugwump make the best wicca. tongue.gif

EDIT: Plus at level 100 your crit rate is somewhere between the 40-45% (I think but definitly under the 50%). So at high levels crits really aren't an issue anymore.

I forgot about the blessings. I just got back up to 100% karma, too.

I'm not sure if Aslarans make good warriors, but I've toyed with the idea of switching to the Ebonguard. But I love the 'dancer's too much.

Well for a wicca I'd say Mugwump is very good. You have a nice speed for combat and decent int (especially with a knowledge blessing) for your damage attacks. And health isn't all that much of a problem at higher levels especially if you do Tosha and/or get a life blessing, divine favour etc.

If you go knight.. Aslaran aren't bad I think, but I've never bothered with warrior classes much so you might want to ask someone else. tongue.gif
