Well...Narses' history is even longer and I'd rather not go into detail... it won a bardic though, so it can be read there.
All in all I am very happy with his concept

Aww.
Drayakir2006-01-21 04:03:48
Drayakir is a mad scientists. He often spends time in the library, pacing around, mumbling to himself, and thinking about some grand scientific scheme or another. He likes killing, but only to dissect. He is bored with killing the same things over and over again, but when he kill something new, he is excited, and will often salvage whatever organs he can, and try to figure out as much as possible about the organism. He is also fond of writing, but mostly scientific treatises, which are actually coherent, but often tend to propose wild theories. He is also ambitious as hell, and would like nothing more than to be raised as a deity.
He has a profound hatred for Merian, seeing that his old time rival (whom he has oustripped in power greatly) was a Merian. However, he does not hate Elfen, and would actually find them attractive, and sees nothing wrong with them. The female ones anyway. He is not sure of his vsicanti heritage (i.e. what stock were his ancestors before they got mutated), but nonetheless seeks to find more about it. He is also fond of organizing stuff, but rarely manages to carry anything through. He's rather absentminded, except for some things, in which case, his mind becomes very single-tracked.

Has Drayakir attempted necromantic transfusion to a living host? (aka attaching the limb of a dead creature to a still-living person and making it work)
Unknown2006-01-21 05:21:31
Balizar is chaotic bordering insane. He has a deep connection to Gorgulu, the first Demon lord he was pacted to. He emulates the core principles of his beloved Demon Lord, and has no second thoughts or hesitations when it comes to battle. He doesn't have a value system, or much beliefs. He plays along with the rules because he knows he has to in order to survive in Magnagora. He doesn't care for authority in any form, because he thinks he always knows best, no matter the situation.
He has a great hatred for most Viscanti because of thier innate arrogance. Viscanti can just rub him the wrong way, but he keeps this view to himself. He is loyal to his guild with extreme passion, although you could not say he ' loves ' it. He doesn't love anyone or anything - but he is amused from time to time. He does what he wants when he wants, usually without much foresight ( disciplinary action is often taken against him, but he doesn't care much )

Drayakir is a Geomancer, not a Nihilist. He doesn't know Necromancy. He just likes cutting stuff up. Like a scientist, of course.

I like this thread. I'm learning about characters I wouldn't have normally even thought about learning about. I'm tempted see if some of you guys have histories and backgrounds written up. Also, I want to have my characters meet a bunch of folks now.
Good job OP.

Lets see....
Ialie is....
Hell if I know.
I'd say easily distracted. A little faeling with attention deficit disorder. She is peace loving and so on, She hates when people don't like her and will try to make friends. She is a jeweler and takes pride in the stuff she makes. *think* She fancies herself as a singer. She writes songs and will sometimes perform them for people.
Oh I forgot she is a twin. Her twin brother is Ialen but he has been inactive for a long time.
There is more to her but I put a lot in my histories and background and stuff... so find it there

Raikas2006-01-21 10:06:07
You know, I really ought to sit down and figure out exactly what I'm doing with Raikas... I never really intended for him to be my primary character. I was going to get acquainted with the game, then start a new one and be more prepared for what I was getting in to. Then I just never made the new one.
I play Raikas basically without thought. The ways that he responds to stuff is pretty much how I would respond. It's the same personality that I have when I'm on IM or anything. The only in-character "boosts" he's gotten to that come from his pledge to Shakiniel, giving him a slightly more hopeful, often-optimistic twist than myself.
It's pretty obvious to me now though, that he's here for a while... I should give him some depth. Hm.

Valarien2006-01-21 12:08:21
I've been looking for an excuse to define Val a bit, woot.
Anyway, Val came from the portal at 16, confused as hell as remembering absolutely nothing about his past. Only a vauge recollection of the forest drew him to Glomdoring, and he quickly found his roots there - Embracing the teachings of Mother Night and finding several role models and guiding figures in his life. (Shayle, Astraea, Viravain) He used to be quite giggly and, well, hyper as hell, but has calmed down significantly over the few years he's been in Glomdoring. He cherishes his youth, knowing full well that he is much younger than a lot of the people around him, but doesn't fear growing older. In Valarien's eyes, youth is something that passes, making way for wisdom and strength in the exchange. Because of this, he generally attempts to behave older than he is, but sometimes lets his age show through. He's somewhat obsessed with death, reincarnation and evolution, believing that for things to be reborn anew, better, they need to first either wilt and die, or sacrifice their being in exchange. He isn't really a generally hostile person, but living in Glomdoring has given him a slight "edge" to his patience. In short, it takes him a bit to get angry with somebody, but when he is, he's about angry forever. There are a few things he doesn't tolerate at all, however - Blatant disrespect, or insults directed towards certain people tend to get him quite agitated. Also, arriving just in time to see the Wyrd come about, Valarien is genuinely confused as to why people around the basin refer to Glomdoring as Tainted, because in his eyes it's obviously anything but. While somewhat tolerant of the cities around him, Valarien holds a quiet, firm belief that forest is the superior force in the world, and that the Wyrd is it's arrowhead. As such, he also doesn't understand why those of Serenwilde don't reach the same conclusion. Generally quiet, Valarien is fond of simply stopping to think, and oftentimes retreats into his thoughts to contemplate the happenings around him, causing him to appear "spacey" at times. He's secretly very, very ambitious, someday hoping to achieve Titanhood, or even becoming a Demigod, but generally keeps those thoughts to himself. As far as his mindset goes, he's generally quite resilient mentally, but sometimes finds himself in inescapable, unexplained bouts of intense depression. However, this doesn't affect him so much in a negative way - He oftentimes becomes more perspicacious and poetic, seeing depression as a guiding tool of Mother Night and finding within himself something of a clarity of mind. As far as his general relationships go, Valarien's closest bonds by far are with his Mentor and his Sister, followed by his guild - though he reserves a special spot in his heart for that certain someone.
I suppose I'll quite bugging everyone with Val now
And to think I never intended for him to be a serious character
Glomdoring rocks

Solarus2006-01-21 16:25:47
How to explain my Solarus.. hmm
----------------
Solarus tends to come across very friendly and open. She loves to talk, play, and have herself a grand ol' time. However she does have her serious moments and in such, she can be a real thinker, and sometimes a tad bit of a worry-wort.
She loves beings in Serenwilde, but some part of her also wishes to be on the ocean, and even a stronger desire to adventure about. She tends to keep herself in check on these things and her own emotions.
Solarus loves duel wielding, in fact, she wishes others would do such in Wilde. She tends to like to fight and see how far she can push herself before having to back out for a rest. She loves danger, and she loves hearing stories of adventures and near death expierences.
On her darker side though, she knows she has hunting memories forgotten in her past. She is strongly under the belief that she was dead and the fates summoned her from death to relive. This viel of foggy memories that comes to her time to time, really bothers her, cause even when she is awake, she sometimes can hear the past voices and yells, however though silent, it tends to distract her.
The only person she will share these vision of what maybe be her past life with is to Everiine because of the trust she has in him, but even though doing this act, she also has come to realize that in trying to understand these past memories, it seems to be sparking a unknown darker side to herself, a side, she isn't so sure of.

Suhnaye2006-01-21 16:54:12
Suhnaye started off as a basic Moondancer who prefered to keep his head down, stay out of trouble, and just go with the flow... Through the experiences he witnessed, he sort of evolved into what he is now... That being someone completely different from a run of the mill Moondancer... Let me think.
Suhnaye is highly hermitous these days. He has grown rather annoyed with social orders of any sort, and seems to see most of the current official organizations of the Basin severely outdated, stagnant, and hopelessly mired by their own pathetic dogma. That said, he is extremely diplomatic, so if you spoke to him in character its highly doubtfull someone would ever get that impression from him. He has a tendency to be extremely polite, though prefers to keep to himself most times, and so doesn't show it much. He is a scholar, a writer, and a historian, but is severely phobic of anyone reading any of his works, and so keeps several books locked tightly away, hidden from everyone.
He still believes that the only way the Mortal races will ever survive is if they learn to work togeather, regardless of their differences, and manage to form a peace. Over the years though, he's been growing increasingly jaded about the particular cause of managing to get the world to come to peace, and his patience is beginning to wear rather thin.
Seeing Ackleberry returned is still one of his greatest, and nearly only ambition anymore. He's begun to doubt his own resolve in what the commune should become and follow once its returned. Where once he hoped it would be a beacon of peace, through his research, and through experience with so many mortals of the basin, his primary hope is that it will manage to find a way to somehow remove itself from a required alliance with any of the powers that be. As stated earlier, he believes all of the cities and communes are drowning in their own dogma, and he hopes that by remaining seperated from them all, Ackleberry might be able to avoid that fate if its lucky.
He's fanatically loyal to those he loves. Family especially are very important to him, trusting them implicitly, and expecting the same trust and loyalty in return... His wife, Marina, is one of the few people who acctually does see him out of his Manse from time to time, though it be a rare occasion.
When he does speak with people, he loves to question all forms of things, which has a habit of occasionally rubbing people the wrong way. He sees biased prejudices as one of the most pathetic things in the world, and so does not like certain Elder Gods and Goddesses very much... He also dislikes fanaticism, seeing it as a breakdown in propper self control, and therefore proof of a weak mind. He dispises poorly made arguments based purely on biased emotion and nothing else and takes great pleasure in ripping such occurances apart with various references, logic, and big words.
I think thats about all...

Geb2006-01-22 02:58:42
Geb is a normal humanoid. He has humanoid dreams, frailties, and fears. He does not consider himself special, nor does he seek to be treated in a special manner. What he does consider himself having is a strong ethical foundation mixed with pragmatism. He seeks to hold himself to high standards, but he understands everyone else will not be so inclined. Still, he does expect everyone to maintain a certain level of self-respect, even if it is only in the most public of places in Celest. Last, he has a temper, but his self-control overrides his desires to take his staff, turn it side ways, and stick it up the behinds of some of the citizens in Celest.
Geb may seem unsociable, but that is just because he chooses those he socialize with carefully. He can’t stand masturbating intellectuals. Those who speak of love, but do not love their citymates enough to risk their lives to protect them annoy him. People who feel they should have a voice in what decisions are made concerning the city just because they draw a breath also annoy him. So, he normally only socializes with people who are able to get their point across without undue pontification or attention grabbing. Those who act and not just gab their mouth.

Are we talking the 'mental masturbation' that Byron accused Keats of..? Or something far darker that goes on in Celestian academic circles?
