I loooove instakilling gorgogs. wub.gif Maybe once every 2 or 3 times through the caves, but that's because my 8x hits with faeling strength and rapiers just tickle them. I need an annihilating or worldshattering to one-hit.

ok guys here's the definitive word on bashing with fast or slow weapons etc.

The weapon damage stat doesn't matter hardly as much as your strength for each hit when it comes to damage to mobs.

therefore if you take 280 or so speed rapiers/hammers/katana, you are going to bash a lot faster because you are getting a heap more hits in over time.

for instance, you hit for 1k mob damage with a 180 damage 160 speed flail at 18 strength.

If you take rapiers you will probably do like 700-800 mob damage per hit with your 18 strength, but you will also hit a hell of a lot faster, giving you a much better mob damage over time.

I am a member of the commune of Glomdoring.

1.)Can anyone give me a quick rundown on good places to bash beyond newton caverns? I have no idea where to go now...

2.)I wanted to know what kind of stats I could get on a katana for 15k, and if it would be worth it to buy one now or just wait for more money so that I could get a better one later. Right now I am just bashing with my newbie greataxe.

3.) Is armor important for bashing? As a knight, what kind of armor/stats on said armor should I be getting? How much should this cost?

4.) Are the lower level skills in hunting useful at all? How does fishcatch work (Do I just have to be in a room with water or do I have to find somewhere where trout are). How about the stuff that lets me catch cows/chickens? Are they any good-couldn't I just kill the animals instead?

5.) "katana61315: a slender platinum katana 9 5000gp" Now there are nine of these katanas, all of the same description. I can wp it, but I only get the first katana. Is there any way I can wp the other 8?

Thanks

Where you can effectivly hunt depends on what city or commune you are from, ask your guild and they can point you in the right direction, but the tidal flats are pretty good after newton.

1) Tidal Flats

2) 15k should get you a pretty good katana

3) Yes it is, you should ideally get Field Plate and Great Helm but its VERY VERY expensive purely because they use so much Steel

4) All the low level skills in hunting like Fishcatch and Rustling are used to commodity quest for villages. Yes you could just kill the animal but thats not the point. Each of the skills lets you get something that can be handed into certain village NPCs for a bit of gold and it will increase that villages production of certain commodities which will then tithe them to the City/Commune that has it influenced at the moment.

5) You Can't but a general rule if someone piles a lot of weapons together at the same price means they are all just about average stats.

1). What kind of armors are helpful in bashing? I would thing that platemail would be, but is a great helm useful? Are there plate legs that I can buy? Anything else?

2.) And what are the commodity requirements for these things?

3.) What are the commodity requirements for a masterweapon katana?

4.) Can someone point me in the right direction for what to do with pilgrims/scholars?

1) Along with protecting particular body parts, armor seems to give an overall help in bashing. I found this out the hard way when I fought those Creatures a while back and 1.5k damage a hit one day turned into 2k the next. After a panic (and a pray) I realized my helm had decayed while I was gone. I picked up another one and things seem rather fine now.

So, yes, get the helm and the plate. Platemail (field and full) covers everything except your head so Plate + helm = full armor.

Beyond that, get a coat and cloak with fire and cold proofing (coat with fire, cloak with cold, or the other way around). That's pretty much it for armor in bashing.

2) depends heavily on the design of the armor. Best just to ask a forger.

3) Same here, except I can tell you that a Masterweapon is VERY pricy: 40k minimum unless I'm sadly mistaken. Many different designs out there.

4) Hint: They are both in need of going somewhere. Greeting any NPC is a good way to learn what they want. After you find out, simply talk to them to ensure them that you'll help lead them where they want to go.

I've seen masterweapon singlehanded blades at 20k apiece, for 40k total... but that's just "average" quality, not the "reforged a lot until perfection" kind.
