I didn't feel pain at all, I was on painkillers that worked rather well, but didn't make me any kind of loopy. The only thing that was bad though was the fact that I couldn't feel my face real well, so ever time I tried to drink something, it would fall back out. My tongue and cheecks were real out of whack for a bit.

Haha I remember that. You'd have to sort of tilt your head to make sure that you didn't dribble whatever it was you were eating/drinking out.
I actually wouldn't suggest eating soup with a spoon either (and I'd go with it just being warm, not hot), if you plan on eating it. It's okay drinking, but I found that using the muscles for a spoon (weird thinking about that, huh?) was painful. I mean, I guess you could awkward just sort of use the spoon to drop it into your mouth, but drinking was much better.

Here's a nice depiction of what happens after wisdom teeth removal.

Well the big day is coming. On Monday at around 2 pm my time, I'll be having my operation. I'll be off work for a week after that so I assume I will be online a lot then. I want to apologise in advance if I seem grumpy or bitchier than usual, please just nod and smile at me and don't take it too personally.
I'll do my best to control my pain being expressed on you poor people.

When I had mine cut out, they gave me tylenol 3 for the pain. I took the first dose about an hour before I was supposed to, and continued to take them about thirty minutes before the next dose was 'ready'. I never felt any pain (except when I tried to eat), and I was on solid foods within three days.
Then again, my body ends up healing at an extraordinary pace...

I'm in a lot of pain and swallowing a constant stream of my own blood. Joy. Goodnight.

urk.. I've got two of mine coming through now.. and I'm not sure I like the sound of this very much. They're not impacted though. They're normal. I think...

It's not that swollen actually. A bit, but you wouldn't notice unless you saw me a lot or looked hard.
Diamondais2006-02-14 01:48:47
Hopefully itll stop soon

Post operative pain can be hard.
I had my Gall Bladder removed almost a year ago. It was day surgery, so it wasn't that bad, but when I woke up I thought I was still under the knife (as they have to wheel you in and measure the fenatyl carefully so I wouldn't be knocked out again).
The first night, even with the Oxycodone, I was unable to sleep, I had to sit up in a chair since lying down even that didn't help. But after a few nights I was okay and I even threw away the medication since I get scared of opiate addiction.
Just give it a few days.

I hope you feel better. I used to have a picture of myself with chipmunk cheeks but I lost it. My parents took away my meds the second day and made me use tylenol so I definitely know the pain ! You'll make it through and forget what it's like soon after!

Next bit in the saga: I have a post op infection and if I did not catch it quick enough and the antiobiotics fdon't kill it I may need another operation. I haven't been this stressed in a long time
