A normal skill with three specializations. The specializations are not released yet, so you have to stop at master. The specializations will come later.

Ah if it's only till master now I' can divert some lessons
Shamarah2006-02-04 01:47:54
My god this is going to eat up credits/money.
300 cr to trans Aethercrafting + specialization
250k for an egg
175k for a ramhead
75k for an energy collector
375k for three turrets
150k for a grid
100k for a shield
1.125 mil and 300 credits, not counting the cost to make a sizeable manse, and not counting artifacts.
Geez!

We were tempted to give a teaser for this on the web site with this simple note: Ships - coming soon!

Hey... this is fate. I am so looking forward to being an empath!!
My throneroom (where I decided to put the empathic grid thing)...
It's a sign, I tell you, a sign!
Edit: By the way... if we shoot creatures that attack our aetherships, do we get experience for it?
As in, is joining an Aethership crew going to be a way to gain experience?

A crystalline garden of light.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. As you ascend from the
stone stairway into this enormous cavern, your senses are struck by the beauty of the scene before
you. Walls of translucent crystal surround you on all sides, and shimmering waves of multi-hued
colour ripple along them at odd intervals like dancing aurorae captured in frosted glass.
Crystalline pillars are spaced randomly throughout the chamber, but they are not carved in any
traditional sense and rather seem to arc from the ground to the ceiling far above like curved
lightning frozen in ice. The ground underfoot is littered with lush flowering bushes and soft
mosses, thriving somehow in the shallow soil, and you spy clouds of iridescent blue butterflies
fluttering about the beautiful gardens. A few scattered trees grow within the unusual conditions of
this sanctuary, and a small grove of alabaster trees surround an enchanting throne towards the edge
of the garden. In the centre of the cavern's high ceiling sits a crystal dome that opens to the sky,
and the shafts of pale moonlight that pierce through it seem to be absorbed by the pillars, making
them glow with an inner argent fire. A gentle breeze laden with indescribable scents drifts from an
archway on the far side of the chamber, and through it you spy a path out into the open air. A low
seated throne of lucent green marble has been placed here, its carved surface glimmering in the
available light. Flashing with energy,
the empathic grid stretches from floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall.
You see exits leading down and out (open door).

Note that I sort of hinted at this when during my eagle murder event that dark spirit escaped through the aetherplex and I mused that maybe one day we would be able to give chase, but traveling the aetherways without something to protect you from the outside was dangerous. I don't think anyone noticed...

Anisu2006-02-04 03:06:39
a stupid question but how do you steer the ship? I use STEER W and it doesn't do anything
Unknown2006-02-04 03:17:28
I wonder if a few things will change.
When a ship undocks, it's not accessible via any portals, are they?
It would also make sense, IMO, for an Aethership to only have access from one area at a time--otherwise, what would be the point of docking or travelling? Maybe if you chose to have a ship you have to then choose a single dock.

I'm so lost right now.
I leave for a few days and we got this, heh. It seems so strange though... And the aethercrafting isn't the aethercrafting I imagined... This is like, aethershiping!
I think I'll have to look into it, heh. Oh... and learn all the skills.

Lesse... If I buy 1100 or so creds for my birthday, I can use 500 to build a twelve-room manse, 300 for all this aether crap, and 300 to (eventually) trans Aethercrafting.
Captain Kymir Can'tah, Aetherpirate... now all I need is a crew.
