I'd say psychologically sex is different to a drink or eating. Reading about someone eating is far less likely to inspire a powerful mental response than reading about someone having sex.

I've never done it, and I don't really care if other people do, as long as they keep it private and don't mischan it onto market when I'm half-asleep, causing thorough bemusement.

yes I do roleplay certain flaws into Simimi's character that a certain few, MAYBE 4 people know of and in the event they occur, people are all "0.o?"
I have done it, and I joke about it alot, especially on IRC with people like Bau and Nymerya and Ialie, would I actually go and do those things with them Icly? Probably not, but the fun is still there in joking.
I found it an excellent way to imporve my use of 'dynamic english' and it severely helped when using long sentences of helping verbs with conjucations and such, aswell as proper describing patterns.
