It was a vote. Not a unanimous decision. Give me a flag to burn. Tyrants!

I remember going to a party. I remeber being driven back home to 'refuel' the party after people cleverly didn't bring enough alcohol. I remember getting into bed at ~1am and then waking up around ~9am .. with no recollection of what happened in between.
Happy Australia day kids.

Going to be at 1am during a party?? I do hope you had a good excuse for that.
Last time I bothered to get drunk I stayed up until 6 and then I actually had a great excuse to go to bed

Yup - every other Techie in my area was either on leave or going to be "sick" the day after. I had to be at work.
Iridiel2006-01-27 11:16:14

Yeh go the sickie! great for extending those long weekend, i like to do the friday before a monday public holiday, and just get totally railed on scotch for the weekend.
Iridiel2006-01-27 17:18:23
We just call that "making a bridge" or "bridged holidays" and most people just take a day off or simply the company allows the day to be considered holidays (in small companies). Want to clarify that spanish workers has at least 22 holiday days a year legally, besides the national holidays, and companies usually allow people to decide when to take them. I've heard is not like that everywhere, wich is a reason against moving to work outside.
In december, when the 6 and 8 are holidays and they fall in tuesday and thursday respectively, we call that an aqueduct.
We don't need to play the sick, we're just accepting of the lack of productive going to work on day yes, and one day now, causes.
