I cant get in game right now, but indeed, weapons rebounding can be queued.(sp?) It's actually kinda stupid that rebounding can be stacked as such, and makes classes such as pureblade extremely hindered by the fact that with their slow attacks, they literally have to cleave/assault nearly every time. I personally dont use the rebounding queue, but thats because Im far to lazy to actually hit a smoke faeleaf macro once in a while.

Sooooo, if you didn't know it could be queued Estarra, could we PLEASE have it changed so that it does not? I swear, Ill..um..say thanks!

Your timing is off, it's somewhat weird how it works, but let me assure you, it can and does stack. Ask triden, he's somewhat of a genious with the trick.

OH!, do you mean that small lag between when you smoke and when it pops up? if in that time I would preform an aggro action it would pop back up later?

aye, that's the point. Right now, you can put up rebounding, then smoke again, and just before the delay between smoking and aura comming up runs out you attack, dropping your aura, but regaining instantly because now the timer of your second smoke finishes and kicks in.

Over in Achaea, as long as you have rebounding, your smoking won't start a new timer, so you have to smoke after you lose your rebounding and wait for the delay till your rebounding comes back up. That gives the warrior a window where you indeed have no rebounding, which you can avoid in Lusternia by accurately timed smoking.

That said, I'm not for or against it really... we do have ways to hit through rebounding if we want, twohanders via a long-balance razeslash, onehanders via one raze one slash. And the only situation where the stacking smokes are actually viable is inside the arena, outside you'd have to have sick amounts of faeleaf on you to carry on the tactic for longer than a few minutes.

hmm.

I'm for adding proper smoke balance that also deals with faeleaf.

Quicksilver elixir does this same damn thing. It needs fixed too! You can cycle it to where it comes back up the second it gets stripped...

and I think anyway that it is so much more feasible for something like quicksilver because potions are just innately easier to manage/waste than smoking cures.

Just to clarify:

If you sip quicksilver in small bursts every few seconds, you can make it so that it IMMEDIATELY comes back up with a few seconds that it is stripped. This is because each sip starts another cycle for the speed defense. If at any point the end of the cycle hits and the speed defense has been stripped, you get it again. Very much the same way you can have rebound come back up the second it falls.

Thanks Narsrim! I never knew that, now I'm going to add an adrenaline trigger that'll fire anytime I have balance/equilibrium! It's similar, but doesn't cost me anything! Woot

edit: Oh wait, adrenaline won't fire if you have quicksilver up... Oh well, constant quicksilver sip here I come.

I consider the rebound/speed trick a perfect example of how the arena doesn't compare to non-arena combat. For example with the quicksilver trick, OOA you'd literally burn through a vial of quicksilver every fight. That would be hella expensive.

I did a big bug report with a log of getting rebounding 2 or 3 seconds after I broke it by smoking before(It takes I think 6 seconds to put it up normally). Fix quicksilver too!

Yeah, six seconds. I always figured this was a bug. unsure.gif I never thought of actually writing it into the system, so I only ever raise rebouding when it falls. Hrm. I always thought of rebounding as something that forms gradually, so that it takes six seconds to fully stabilise. Thus, it makes no IC sense for me that you would smoke it when already up, as the field is already stable enough to repel weapons. It also means, to me, that if the rebounding is razed after smoking faeleaf in this period, that the field would not have had long enough to stabilise, thus would not come up.

i've actually coded this into my system

Depending on who i'm fighting, i'll spam adrenaline once per second every until the speed defence goes up. While the speed defence is already up adrenaline doesn't seem to queue.

Seems to work a treat especially against mugwumps.

That being said, it shouldn't happen
