They aren't. The Passage quoted is very clear on that. They were a mystery even to Dynara, hence, they can't be elders.

The Fates are technically "Overgods", like Roark and Estarra, and perhaps The Nine/Avechna. None of them need shrines for Essense, etc. So I consider those beings above Elder Gods.

The fates are not elder gods, nor are they over-gods... they are the fates and should probabbly have thier own section of fates.. Clothos.and the other two...

I must agree with Narsrim that Xyl was not emotionless. Most people could not understand his emotions, except for Trillillial, but he was in no way without them.

That's what I thought, but that list confused me. I haven't read the histories and IC writings as indepth as others, so I assumed I must be wrong.

I'd feel really bad for her if Xyl had no emotions, but in the histories he showed her a good bit of kindness so I seriously doubt that he was lacking.

There is a different between being stoic, which I think Xyl was, and being emotionless.

I think Xyl just didn't have facial muscles... being a crystal and all that.

That is what I was also led to believe, Daganev. He glowed different colors for different emotions and was very difficult to read. Trillillial had no problem, though. I think Xyl had just as many emotions as any other Elder God, they were just difficult to see, and we was also very logical. He had a passion that few understand, I would say. He did spend a great deal of time building things with Trillillial, though, and I'm certain he loved her very much.

The fates aren't elders, they aren't even gods, but something different. They do not really belong on this list.

Although one must wonder if Xyl had slaves too... his descendants were slave-owning bastards afterall.

the fates are -differant- then the gods, and I believe from reading the histories that the fates where known to be around sometime during the time of the two daughters.

The Fates are posers, that's what they are. If they hadn't been so damn ambiguous with their prophecies, this whole mess would've been averted (If you don't know what I'm talking about, go read the story of the Taint wars.)

Oh, and I get a kick out of the notion of Lisaera flirting with Fain, so you Magnagorans aren't alone. I always thought making the gods have relationships made them more human, in a way.
