Umn could we maybe have some instruments? It would be nice if they had skills that could provide advantages and disadvantages. But simply having people able to play music would be fun.
I do understand that we could emote, but it would still be nice to have the items so when you play them you could have the position "* is standing here playing a set of bongos" or whatever.

There's a thread somewhere about artisans being able to make small items that have only RP value.
Diamondais2006-02-02 03:59:56
Before Glomdoring became a Commune there was to be a design for a harp in Heirlooms for the Goldenleaf Cartel. Not sure if it ever went through.
Verithrax2006-02-02 04:15:33
Artisans should get a very low skill, 'props' or something like that. It would be entirely unlike any other skill in any tradeskill, as it would have freeform designs rather than specific patterns. It would be used for making little trinkets like musical instruments, toys, and so on.
Diamondais2006-02-02 04:42:28
As an Artisan I have no problem with it and it may spice up RP a bit more, but this could probably wait 'til in the very least the figurine craze has died down.
Saran2006-02-02 04:46:25
perhaps a wielded item, but defined into groups (think accessories in tailoring) so that one could be instruments and you play them? while another type offers different interactions?
Richter2006-02-02 16:58:10
I almost got a violin in closed beta. Sadly, it was never made.
On another note, I got a hamster pet, that could teach me anything. Crazy gods.

They wouldn't be hard to implement, I suppose, since they'd have no actual funcionality. They'd just be objects you could carry around, wield, showoff, give to other people, and emote with.

At most all it is your going to do is to perform targeted emotes with them, emotes arnt to hard to put in are they?
Arix2006-02-03 00:42:09

I sooo want some bagpipes. Even though a pipe might be better for Verithrax's RP.

for instruments the most complex emote might be
play (optional modifier)
so you would emote "Saran plays a, (he drums a wild lively beat, so strong you litterally feel it)"
And your position would "Saran is playing a"
or something like that? Would have been fun up at the mound when we were bored. Saran tried playing psychic spin the vial but realised he wasn't psychic, then tried dancing around an invisible fire.

We should start the basin's most annoying band
Saran2006-02-03 16:29:40

Unknown2006-02-03 18:43:33

Richter2006-02-03 18:46:27
I'll take cowbell.
Diamondais2006-02-03 18:55:55
Ill take hide in a corner and snap at those taht come near me with instruments
Though really if they could awaken people dont you think theyd be good against Dreamweavers if you can find their bodies? *nudge* (I realize that if this is ever implemented it will probably not serve any purpose)

So we've got me on bagpipes,Richter on cowbell, Verithrax on a regular pipe, and Kurt on guitar. Now we just need an accordian and some kind of percussion and we're set.

*does Ian Anderson-esque 15 minute jazz flute solo*
Richter2006-02-03 19:39:26
*bangs his cowbell a few times*
"We need more cowbell!"
