hmm, well all that did was find my foxdyd.exe folder and launch the game (the picture of the beautiful blue tinted lady on the opening window.

Then I tryed logging in, it started to connect and I got "failed to connect to server" again, like I've been getting the last 6 or so time I've tryed.

Edit: I thought it was something with by Foxdyd.ini or foxdye.exe files, but no, they're in there, so nothing the other forums have seem to be working for me.

I'm just going to download the Version 8.0 and install that, uninstall 7.0+patches, and hope it works.

I was getting that problem. Find your foxdyd file in your pRO folder. Open it and and make sure the ip is 204.15.77.194 and it should fix it.

Woot! thanks! That's the last piece of the puzzle, I got to the "make your charactor" part, so I think I'll search for guides and what not and plan my charactor, either that or start a crapy charactor right away and miss up so much on them so I need to restart.

edit:Ok, started a random charactor, got to lvl 12 from the first monsters you fight, they told me my job was thief, i went to some desert city, went south, killed some things, got to lvl 14, upped my "basic skill" whatever the heck that does. So I got bored and went west, went into some sphinx and died instantly, went back to lvl 12, was confused about pretty much everything and now I'm trying to search around for some in depth guides.

Just remember, after you get job level 10, to upgrade basic skills (right click the icon to see what they are) go to the job changer sw of the fountain in prontera.

Once you get job level 40 you can go back and get your second class. However, I reccomend maxing your job level at 50, you get 10 more skill points from 40-50.

After you get your second class, your job levels reset, and getting them at high level places now is way easy.

Once you get level 99, you can go rebirth. 7 more levels to go!

For beginner to intermediate, go bash Payon.

Higher levels, get someone to show you where the parasites are.

Though, it's a large game, take advantage of the other areas too, don't just stick to those two.

Don't forget the recommended hexagon stats for each character.

Agi - 9 Str, 1 Int, 9 Agi, 1 Luk, 9 Dex, 1 Vit
Vit - 9 Str, 1 Int, 9 Agi, 1 Luk, 5 Dex, 5 Vit

...ok they don't tell you that like anywhere, they don't tell you pretty much anything.

I got a GM to help me and she just directed me to forums which were 99% "what class is the coolist" "who is lvl 99?" "I hate looters" and so forth.

I just want something that is a general overlay of all the skills for all the classes and what they do and what all of the stats do and how that is beneficial to all the classes, and... perhaps I want to much...


Edit:but ya I've got a thief with 15/14/15/10/10/10 so I messed that guy up, time to start on the next charactor.

and did I mention the controlls are "clunky" ? all you do is left and right click on things in odd orders to try to do everything *le sigh*

You can reset stats and skills. Find the changer in (I think) Izlude, she'll reset skill points or stat points for 300,000gp, or both for 500,000. Note that with the desert/dagger and katar thing I mentioned, it's easy to make this much.

Make sure to check out www.gamefaqs.com for character builds, and www.roempire.com for some awesome info.

I didn't see an 'exit' option anywhere so I just closed the window, and now I've got an error on reconnected, just like the last time, took the server 2 days to realize I had logged off or something. Geuss I'll read up on the guides in the mean time.

Hit the escape key... Lets you switch characters or return to windows. If you get a "server recognizes your last login" error, just do it again, it always lets you on the second try.

Well, since Wesmin has been showing in posting mode for 10+ minutes, I'm going to go play RO. Look for me on my Richter character if you want me for the next hour or so.

I'm also a little worried that it's going to cock up on me half way through. I should've used one of those download programmes... I'm probably going to lose wireless signal at some stage and then I'll be fuming as the whole thing cacks up.

Yeah, I'm downloading version 8 right now. If it ends up crashing windows too I'm going to just give up on it entirely. *sigh*

If I had a download that long, I'd just say screw wireless, and plug my laptop into the router with an ethernet cable.

And woot, I got to lv 94, should be able to rebirth this weekend.
