www.gamefaqs.com for in depth info. Also try www.roempire.com
And cards usually sell as follows (general info from what I've seen from player merchants):
Lame cards: 300k-700k
Medium cool cards: 1m or so
Rarer cards: 2m-3m
MvP cards: Never seen one sold. I'm guessing 5m+
Note that you can buy cards from donating money to the server, kind of like this:
Lame cards: $5
Medium cool cards: $10
Rarer/more useful cards: $15
MvP cards: $130
This sounds about right. This would probably put my vitatia at 2mil. It's not SUPERUBBARARE but:
1) Heal clips are ever so useful. It's like Mage/Guardian enchantments, only more required.
2) Almost no one wanders around Ant Hell. Why I have NO CLUE. I plan on abusing it so hard people will think I'm botting.
Still, I'm not selling for less than 4m anyway. As I see it, EVERYTHING I have is for sale, but you'll be paying out of the ears for the stuff I would like to keep (like the phen clip I WILL get once I can start making elemental maces).
Sidenote: Cwin's at 75/41 now.

This seems boring. Do you actually do anything apart from walk around and level?

Kinda... Join a guild?
And I can't get on AIM, I work until 5:00 pst, and don't get home until 6:00. Then, if I'm not out doing something with the friends/girlfriend, I might get on.

I spent maybe 15 minutes trying to figure that out. The bastards.
It -was- invisible for me, I was fiddling with my contrast/brightness/color trying to see it, for me it was a pitchblack circle on a pitchblack background. I ended up randomly clicking EVERYWHERE on the window untill by chance I hit it.

Shamarah: There's a FEW other things, but we're not talking Lusternian style..well.. anything. It's mindless bashing, item searching, build creating, boss hunting, mayham. Ever wanted to go shut down all of the channels and forget the conflict, and bash Astral for a while. Same mentality.
Shryke: not sure what stats are which there. RO forum syntax tends to be # Str # Agi # Dex... so on.
In any case, a swordsman usually focuses on Str and either Agi or Vit, depending on whether you want to be PvP or PvE (if it's your first character, I recommend Agi, since it's cheaper and a character that can fight well can help 'fund' your other characters). Str needs to get to 40 (Note, all numbers include bonuses) as does your defensive stat. Dex is left at 20 and int/luck stuck at 1. After that, I believe it's defensive stat to 70, then start working on getting the final numbers you want.
If your Agi and Vit are both above 30 at this point, you've gone 'hybrid' and done it far too early. The result is like sugar: You level fast and easy and then after a point you're taking too much damage, not dodging enough, and not doing enough damage. Key thing then is to push Str as hard as you can to 70 and bite the bullet.
(sidenote: If you're on Sakray pRO this may be overstating things, since leveling is rather easy here. This advice is based on the slower leveling of other servers)
Also, Equipment is a BIG thing here. A BIGGG thing. Right now, just try to grab anything you can. After that, start learning about weapon upgrading and the card system. A good, well thought out weapon makes a big difference here (which is why many of them are so expensive).

Alright, you can add me to the list:
Ciaran--Level 73--Job 43---Paladin (GC is teh PWNZOR)
Edit: And I have my build set up.. Bash+Stun/ShieldBoomerang+Stun and GC for the kill... Super Vitality for high GC damage, Good Int for same reason (not sure exactly what effects GC) high str just because..

If I ever.. ever EVER make a swordy, it'll be a Grand Cross Crusader. It's messy to make, expensive, but very abusive. Also the female sprite is the ONLY one that looks ready to get into a melee fight (I'm sorry, but if I have nice legs, I'd rather not expose them to bonecrushers and Abyss knights ).
In any case, the formula seems to be:
(Atk + MAtk) x Level of Skills x Element of monsters
Atk = your attack damage and anything that ups it. Str, weapons, cards, buffs, the whole bit, except elemental damage.
MAtk = your magic attack damage. Int mostly. Think 'mage'.
Higher skill level of GC means more damage.
GC is Holy damage, so undead hate it, and holy creatures ignore it.
Lastly, Dex controls how fast you cast the thing.
Apperently (by how it seems) Str isn't as important as Int (I think because it's easier to raise more Magic attack with Int than regular attack with Str)
So a good GC Crusader requires high Int, high Vit (because they take ALOT of damage), and some Dex. The 'hardcore' version ends up with almost no Str or Agi, which means leveling has to be Painful.
GC is one of the more complicated skills out there. They even made a post purely on it.

Lv 96 now!

81-50 now.. But I changed from GC to healing for hunting, prolly will go back once I revamp or whatever it's called... Also thinking of making a merchant just to try, or something that will hunt real fast and make me good gold quick
Cwin2006-02-26 15:45:47
Blacksmith. Definatly blacksmith. Get yourself Discount, Overcharge, 5 vending, and mammo if you want to fight MPVs with him. Then use him not only to hunt well but also to sell the stuff your other characters find (note, Kafra Storage is linked to all your alts: alts assisting alts IS allowed here) either with Vending to other players or with Overcharge, and buy everything with Discount. As a blacksmith, get a nice mace, pick up all of the combative moves (don't worry with forging), and make sure to get cart revolution.
If you can't make money off of that, you don't deserve any money.
An alternative choice SHOULD be going wizard, since they don't need much and can slaughter well. I say should because most of the leveling spots I'm going to are tricky for me (wow, I never knew how many ridgeworms are IN clock tower ).

Are the merchant skill quests in Alberta working for anyone else? They don't recognize my merchant as a merchant.

Post directed at Vendos and Corinthian.
Vendos: I'm not sure if the normal quests are working. Alot of the job/skill quests may or may not be working because (almost) everything is put in Prontera. The bottomleft building in the plaza (middle of the city where you can actually find merchants) has NPCs that can give you job changes without the quests as well as another NPC that handles the skills. It's 5k per skill.
I'm still trying to get used to the differences between this and iRO. Man, Clock Tower's almost impossible here, which probably means clips are still expensive.
Corinthian: Consider Prontera your 'home'. From there you can find the majority of people, get most of your supplies, and get to almost everywhere else. For now, though, your first goal is to get to job level 10.
Easiest way is to either kill the creatures in town or go west and kill everything there (note, the creatures to the west are easier: blah, Thief bug eggs don't even attack). Don't worry too much about dying really, so long as you can kill once in a while, you'll be fine.
As you level, work on your points. I recomend 10 Dex and then pump Str for offense and Agi for attack speed (though before you go CRASY, read up earlier on the thread about the stats and how they work. For the record, Swordies work well with Agi or Vit but tend to work ikky if you get both.)
Once you get job level 10, head to the southwest building in the plaza (again, plaza = circular center of down that you'll actually find merchants in). You'll have to rotate the screen around to see the entrance (hold Right click and move the mouse). After that, look for the Job change NPC, speak to them, ask for Swordsman, and there you go.
After that, head to the northeast building, which are the armor/weapon shops. Grab a sword, any armor you can, go to town, and start planning on whether you want to be a Knight or a Crusader.

You have to install all the updates for both Sakray and the main pRO server for it to recognize your login.
