Are there giant gingerbread men that run around?Â
Haven't you always wondered where they really come from?

Glad to know you all used my manse to test, apologies it's so unfinished right now...
And I'm making the stroke of luck into a real ship, and making it as small as I can, so it's fast.

I haven't got any % so far, despite killing tonnes of beasties.
And FIRST CREW TO FIND THE GNOME FACILITY! (I think)
EDIT: We also found the elemental plane, but couldn't do anything with it, so we scarpered.

Making it small is okay Richter, but pack it full of firepower - you know you want it brimming with so many turrets that it looks like a porcupine...
Unknown2006-02-04 07:44:45
Narsrim Elryn Laneth Jasper, Malicia, Letho, myself, and Kuso(who mysteriously teleported onto the ship) found a triangular desert way way way way way out there, we had to pour more power into our ship to stop from exploding, and frostica as well, and a few vortexes, and 6 types of monsters so far, fun stuff. I'm pretty certain we'll all end up exploding before we get back though
Unknown2006-02-04 07:46:04
You can only have 3 turrets, so that doesn't work, though they can fire faster and stronger. It would be nice to see some monsters actually come aboard the ship, and the un-moduled people be able to fight them, and have those drop some gold.

Things to add:
More Star Trek references.
More H2G2 references.
The ability to make 'pure aetherships', pre-designed manses that can only exist as an aethership, and can't get new rooms or manse arties, but are far cheaper. That way the new aethermanse content won't be availiable just to a minority.
Dunno if this isn't possible already, but maybe let people teleport/tesseract over the aetherways? Being stranded on an aetherbubble without a ride can be horrible and long-lasting.
Some means of transportation over the Aether that is availiable to everyone, like shuttles?
Make ship combat as intrincate and interesting as PvP.
City and Commune-owned Aetherships, for public use by their citizens. Similarly, cities and communes would have an Aether navy.
Villages in aetherbubbles.
Trading and piracy. That's something I'd love to see; carry large bulk loads from from an aetherbubble to your org, where they're dumped into the comm store; but it's possible to get robbed in the way, by other players! I want Aether pirates and Aether privateers.
A way of navigating the Aether more easily and putting your ship on automatic.
Ways of pushing aether bubbles together so they form a single, coherent area which allows players to jump between a bubble and another; similarly, ways of pulling two conjoined bubbles apart.

This is kind of minor but Karrah and I were talking ICLY on if we wanted to do this... we will be merried soon and we both consider the manse to be 'ours' yet since it is his manse, only he can pilot it, and he admits he feels I would have more fun at it than he would, which is true....
Anyway we could get some kind of item/artifact/skill/permission to in certain circumstances allow the manse owner and immediate family to also pilot the family manse?

at level 78 I gained 1% karm and only fractions of a % of experiance, when we had 5 people in positions sharing, I don't believe the idea is for that part to be a hunting ground, but more that it gets you to other bubbles, possibly one of those being a hunting ground, i know there was stuff in the desert to hunt.
Plus, think of practically having a bubble all to yourself, no more completing for hunting/questing zones.
Once people set up rams then intra ship defence will become more important, and even those people without aethercrafting skill will be very important, and Murphy can become the aether pirate he wants to be.

The owner is the 'captain' but the captain does not need to actualy pilot the ship. He can give you permission to use the command chair. The three main positions are: pilot, empath, combateer. The captain can fill any of those positions (or none, just travel along for the ride).

Yeah, I much prefer being the Empath to the Commander (and hence navigator)... I just hope the Empath abilities are cool.

Not really sure about this. One room ships that you can't add onto?

Well, my major problem with this is that, if its so easy to jump around between aether bubbles or onto aetherships in transit, what is the point of aetherspace? It's not meant to be "easy" to get to these far reaching places and certainly not with teleport or tesseract. I believe it makes it more exotic and dangerous to actually have to work and sweat to travel without shortcuts.

Wait for the specializations! That's what we want (to a certain extent).

Actually, the original plan (which is very old) was that nexuses also existed in aetherspace. Each city and commune motherships that protect their nexuses, and nexuses would spit out one-man ships (that can only hover around the nexus). Then players could have battles to drain nexuses of power.
The idea really is unworkable though, especially as the conflict levels would be overly burdensome.Verithrax,Feb 4 2006, 12:51 AM:

There's a bunch of confusing communications things. Just now, I'm on Prime, and I heard:
Also, aetherships out voyaging can't talk and be heard between them on CT, for example. Nor can you hear from a voyaging aethership and an aethermanse. however, it seems you -can- hear from a docked aethership to a voyaging aethership (unless things were odd between ... Starfall was docked and Elryn's one was out I think, and they heard each other). And you can hear from the other planes (Prime and Ethereal, at least) to the voyaging ships. You can also see those out voyaging on CWHO if you're in the aetherways, but you can't talk to them.
Sounds as if ships could use something like a homing beacon, to try and get guidance to find their way back home to dock. Maybe something for the ship itself, or something involved with the portal chamber that the communes/cities would have to do? To tune in to the beacon's signal could require something, or a bit of a drain on ... power?
