I would gain 1% per 12-16 gorgogs with four people there, roughly. You know how many we killed, and I didn't get anything.
At L79 you get 1% per 10-11 gorgogs. Split that between 4 people and you would have to kill 40 aether monsters to get 1%, not counting any possible blessings you might have up.

Ahh.. but given that one aether monster may = hundreds of gorgogs.. I'm not sure that adds up.

Given that demigods give me no more experience than a measily dreaming manifestation, I think it is safe to say that we can't be too literal when it comes to these things.
Shiri2006-02-07 13:18:49
We're apparently not getting any experience for these anyway, according to another test we just did, . So I can only assume either demigods are bugged or Narsrim misread that 1% he got. And Asarnil, 11 gorgogs for a % at level 79? No way. I'm level 79, I get one per like, 3-4. Without harmony/autumn.

just a thought about siphoning, if you had 10 siphons with the arti on them all, couldn't you just ram/insta kill another ship in 5.5 seconds?
Hourglasses don't work in SvS combat, however I do believe that if you had 10 collectors siphoning, yes, you could screw another ship easilly.
Laysus2006-02-07 19:42:02
Just for the record: Experience gain from aether bashing as of last night was null, to all those arguing
We (5 people) killed over 100 creatures, without gaining a single %.

Hanging in astral space.
Starfall Haven floats here in aether.
Breaking through astral space, a tendril of Kethuru wavers sinuously here.
The floor shakes as Furien fires a blast that slams into a tendril of Kethuru.
The body of a tendril of Kethuru suddenly explodes!
It took seven people about 5-7 minutes to kill each one of them. From taking the time to kill seven of them, We gained no gold, no karma, no essence, and no visible experience.

Oh, that's what we had said IC. Celest didn't respond to our request for assistance, so we charged into dire battle against Kethuru alone! It was awesome Those things are NASTY. They move as fast as a small ship - we had to rush as fast as we could with our wheel diamonuts to not die, and they took like, fifteen, twenty hits each to kill, and they did over 600 hull damage on an attack, and they were in packs of five or so.

Umm, no. There was a group of more than ten near Aries when I was there. I didn't go there because I didn't want to implode.

Well I wasn't looking at the map. It looked like we got them all.

By the way, I don't think spawns in the aetherways are disappearing. There are -huge- swarms that are just hanging around in certain areas (a lot of areas, in fact).
I stopped to update my map while exploring in some temporal storms near Frosticia, for no more than like 10 seconds... a gigaswarm of hydrians wanders in, a few hit me before I could move and I dropped to 470 hull strength! This is when they followed me after I reacted:
A spiked hydrian enters from the north on the aetherways.
A gaseous cloier enters from the north on the aetherways.

Oh yes. Mechanically, for those who do not know how it works, there is a small set of aetherbeasts that can spawn in each terrain, usually one or two. In astralaether, the terrain near the Astral Spheres in astralspace, the creature is "A tendril of Kethuru." They have a chance of being created every time someone moves through astralaether or siphons from a vortex in astralaether. And they are nasty. Forestaether, what I call the green stuff near Faethorn, spawns Forestal Gargantuans, and I'm not sure about the other planes.
One small note to the admins - astralaether has the same appearance on the minimap as flux - it's impossible to tell one from the other.

Aethership are really cool. Lusternia is the best!
An idea:
Guilds are able to buy and own aetherships. One or more guildmembers can be appointed to the position of 'guild helmsman', or something like that. They are the only ones able to lock into the command chair. undock guild ships and pilot them around. Any guild member can lock into any other module.

You can already do that. The owner of the manse can set permissions for exactly that. Just have someone buy a manse, set it up the way you want, and then say it's the guild's. Someone will have to technically own it, so make it someone responsible.

I agree as well, Guilds/Communes/cities should be able to buy ships with their amassed gold, and have it officially be "owned" by the org and maneged by the GM/CM...
