Yeah, I'm lagging like mad back on Prime.

Yes, this is horrible sad.gif

EDIT: is it because of the aetherships that it's like this?
Ialie2006-02-04 18:08:51
It would be nice if there was a way to AutoSteer to places that you had already been before.

Malicia2006-02-04 18:22:23
Can anything be done about the lag? It's really bad.
Unknown2006-02-04 18:24:21
Lag will probably be around until they manage to fix the assorted bugs that are causing them. Might take a while, so Im guessing the suggestion will be 'don't fight, bash, explore dangerous areas, ect.'
Ekard2006-02-04 18:25:07
Yea lag is bad.

I was going to hunt some but i cant do anything but stay in forge.

"Don't travel through aetherspace."

The lag is, for now, in check, but yes, until we've fully fixed and optimised everything with Aetherships we're going to be on guard for it at any time.

Orbital bombing? blink.gif

EDIT: Or like my avatar, cruise missiles? tongue.gif
Laysus2006-02-04 20:15:48
When encountering creatures like gorgogs, it would be interesting if it was possible for them to find their way aboard.

They've breached the walls! THEY'RE IN THE SHIP! LOCK DOWN THE DOORS! *the door into the bridge begins shuddering as something beats on it* ARM THE DEFENCE CANNONS! Saaaave uuuuuuusssssssssssss! *die to 5 gorgogs all using the area attack at once as they flood into the bridge*
Deas2006-02-04 20:27:39
Since you mentioned doors I think that the combateer specialization should have a skill that allows them to blow reinforced doors open without actually breaking them and only on undocked ships.

Just imagine how you're about to raid a ship and suddenly end up in a room with reinforced doors and all the ship is full with mono's. That would suck so bad. So Yarrrr..... allow us to blow up things wink.gif

EDIT: Also after watching Richter for a bit i'd say that you should disable the ability to make, delete and reconnect exits in the middle of a raid or combat.
Richter2006-02-04 20:29:34
Bwwaaaa! *door explodes* *figure in black walks in looking for plans*

Seriously though, Aether pirates? I can feel Aetolia-ness creeping up on us, and within a year, all RP will be -gone- *sob*.
Narsrim2006-02-04 20:36:08
After thinking about it, I'm with Catarin... any sort of teleporting back without having to drive back would kill a lot of the fun. I think it would be neat, however, if you could burn say 5-10p to discern the general direction of your commune/city. For example, "You sense the Commune of Serenwilde far to the northwest." This would be incredibly helpful - but you could easily overshoot so you'd have to do it lot if you wanted extreme accuracy

I'd like to see the Empath potentially have the power to have some offensive capabilties. Kind of like a computer hacker, for instance.

Instill Fear in an opponents ship, causing it to do things like move sluggishly, move in random directions, or lurch and cause those inside it to become prone. How about messing with the senses of another ship--a navigator's version of Dementia?

If the Empath is also a Telepath, be able to afflict a crewmember with afflictions.

Combat Gunners could determine who's on a ship and aim for that room. Maybe different types of weapons too. Perhaps missles that don't damage the ship but fill the ship with poison gas, afflictions (vapors! scabbies!). Or Guided missles that move slow but can only be dogged by swift navigation.
Deas2006-02-04 20:51:44
The telepath thing is nice, but its not so good idea unless you provide an alternative to commune people. Also it will be nice if empath will be able to mess/hijack enemy aetherwaves.
Vix2006-02-04 20:52:34
The main purpose of the specializations will be for ship v. ship combat I take it? Plus a few extras mixed in like extra healing or faster use and stuff?
Unknown2006-02-04 20:52:38
Communes--hmm...Maybe empath who's a dreamweaver can beam into an enemy ship in dreamform, and then start messing with the crew?
Deas2006-02-04 20:56:25
No way. Empath is needed on the ship.

Then I better be able to beam into the ship with my moon powers! *beam into ship and drop bomb* - *spore out*

Funny Narsrim....
Also i'd like to know how will work area wide spells or perhaps that's better answered IC.
