... in other words, to kill a titan you need a team? That sounds fair enough to me.. Titans -should- be harder to kill. I don't like them much, and I don't like how powerful they are, but I think it would be ridiculous to be able to RP a Titan if you weren't stupidly tanky.

No, That is not what I said at all. I never said a team is needed to kill a titan. I am talking about a particular combo that can be used, not about the survivability of titans. I did say that Geb as a Demigod would not be killed by teams though.

I wish bashers weren't so heavily rewarded for their time. It doesn't take much skill to bash. Just time. What about others that have built systems, excelled at combat, leadership, quest whizzes.. people who've made huge contributions in other ways? Where's their reward? I'm not saying that we should all get special things just for playing, however.

I'd like to see thunderclap changed to target one person. 3 free stat points to spread about as they wish, instead of a boost all across the board. In regards to divine fire, I think it's bugged. If attacks are going through, it's nothing but a glorified barrier of sorts. Wouldn't we have heard something if they changed fire to allow players to hit through it?

Got a question for you, Avaer. Why do you think there's a problem with levelling if you believe that no one should ever lose big in terms of experience. I've gathered, from reading your posts in other threads, that you feel that we should be able to conglutinate anywhere. happy.gif

i'd personally like to see Titans have an aura that gives them and their allies a boost to either defence or offence, or something along those lines. Even maybe a room wide heal like puella but not heal as much obviously, which would work nicely to pull their offensive power away if they wanted to use it.

I like this idea you suggested. Make titans more of an inspiration for their respective sides, with said inspiration giving benefits of slightly increased defensive and offensive power. They still maintain personal power in increased stats and such, minus the Thunderclap ability (minus Thunderclap and Divinefire for Demigods).
Murphy2006-02-06 14:04:44
I think the stat boost alone is pretty damn good, but yeh some group healing love or similair would be nice. Maybe an aura that inscreases the groups resistances to cutting/blunt or maybe even a flexi-aura ™ that you can choose what 2 resistances you want to reduce by an arbitary figure (let's say 30% for arguements sake, adjustable for balance) plus a group heal or whatever.
Unknown2006-02-06 14:20:38
Hey, that's an awesome idea! I'd much prefer the shifting of roles from godlike offensive combatant to inspiration/support. That removes some of the craziness of having super-powerful demigods running into battle against regular mortals.
Murphy2006-02-06 14:21:31
see I told all you naysayers if i keep coming up with ideas, eventually i'll find a good one!

EDIT: Perhaps we can give titans a new skillset that encorporates all these, along with blessings and buffs they can put on themselves/other people, obviously balanced in regards to the fact we have too many buffs as it is.

so a skillset that titans/demiggods can learn that allwos them to have up aura's to give allies boosts, group healing and individual buffs, maybe even only being able to have one buff out there at a time.

EG if Daevos buffs me with 'blessing of increased wounding' (heavens forbid) he can't buff anyone else with that effect until mine goes away or i log out. Also i can only have one type of titan buff at a time. That would balance it nicely (without the increased wounding buff of course)

Trans skills can be having 2 types of room wide buffs active at once (ie 2 damage reducers instead of one) and also being able to have longer lasting / better effect buffs.

Divine fire's downgrade is a joke. Sure players can hit you, but it heals all your wounds and afflictions (including being asleep and webbed) passively at a very fast pace. I went to the Pool on Celestia and was bashing the guards there with it up, there had to have been at least 7 or so people there hitting me and defending and it was almost as if they weren't even there, I think Ekard impaled me once because there were so many knights targetting my gut but the wounds to the gut were passively cured and I could just continue. So.. 7 or so people + a ton of guards. Killed 4 guards and Havened out.

How the hell can that be right I ask. It is TOTALLY unbalancing, sure I am a Demigod but thats not right. Lusternia is going to go way downhill soon with all these people getting Titan and Demigod. It has been a little over a year and there are already -5- Demigods and 2 Titans.
Kaervas2006-02-06 16:37:56
Ahh never realised it cured wounds instantly, I never took the chance of letting people get into the room I was in while I was killing guards.
Kharvik2006-02-06 16:41:52
Well not instantly, but pretty quickly. I think if people targetted your head instead, there is a chance you could be beheaded if enough wounds stacked before it got cured.

Such powers! What's the point of playing as a demi-god, other than to cause grief to opposing players?
Unknown2006-02-06 16:54:50
Note that like half of them is not around already...

There are five demigods and three titans. How could you forget the first ever titan!!

The only thing that worries me about titan and demi-gods is that they would be great for RP (the Symbols of their cities, the general of all those battles you love to fight, stuff like that) but then, a person who has never RPed further than writing himself a 4 line description not to be kicked off his guild to get the skills can get to DemiGod provided enough time is invested (easy to do if you're not bothered with interacting with citymates) and can later go in a non-RP killing spree. Or even worse, one person commonly considered an idiotic griefer could be DemiGod, while a great politician that does a lot of things for Lusternia is too busy to spend hours upon hour bashing. Or even worse, a hunting focused basher, gets to DemiGod, the city looks at him in awe... And he goes dormant due to lack of anything else to bash. Poof!

So far I think Lusternia has been lucky with demigods, but I am waiting to see the abovementioned cases coming to life, the happy griefer couple thunderclaping in the middle of city nexus, stuff like that. Too powerful, without any proven skill for anything but bashing hours upon hours... At least it's not a mater of push nodebutton, kill thing, push nodebutton anymore smile.gif

Ekard2006-02-06 19:14:00
I dont like your ideas Murphy, those about boost to titan/demigod friends.
Why?
Cose Avatars already have it.

And im with Kharvik remove divinefire and thunderclap. Rest is pretty nice. +2 boost wont do such huge balance over others, like divinefire or thunderclap.

If its not a bug and divinefire have new form, its still too good i think. We couldnt do anything to Kharvik on Celestia. And it wasnt some random novices hitting it was me, Silimaur, Malicia and few others.

Those great RPers are more likely to become Vernal Gods (and gods lets hope that atleast will take some time to achieve)
