I found The Gearwell earlier, that place was kind of odd. Other than that you've mentioned everywhere I've been.

Ooohhhh.. where's that?
Nokraenom2006-02-07 12:09:47
I've been to the Facility, Crumkindivia, Frosticia, the Dramube Triangle, and Faethorn/Nil/Celestia/Water/Earth. I haven't found the Gearwell though.

It's been hinted there are also less-than-stable (e.i., non-permanent) bubbles out there as well, I wonder when someone will stumble across one of those...

Oo, where's you get that hint?

Some of us heard this one:

A mechanical voice sounds through the room, "Master Blastron, the Anomaly is
with you now!!!"

You say, "Master Blasterson, may I introduce you to Lord Elcyrion, the Erudite?"

Newt Blasterson blinks.

Seeker of the Dawn Kalodan Caelicus, Golden Faechild says, "Frank, that's no
Anomaly. It is an Elder God."

Newt Blasterson exclaims, "I can see that you, moron! SHUT UP!!"

Kalodan flashes Newt Blasterson a joyous smile.

Seeker of the Dawn Kalodan Caelicus, Golden Faechild says to Newt Blasterson,
"As we've said, we've come for our meeting."

Kalodan flashes Newt Blasterson a joyous smile.

Newt Blasterson says, "Who in the thirteen unstable bubbles are YOU?"

Anyone have any idea if there are any invisible exits in Aetherspace?

Shift: Dimensional shifts usually indicate that realities are forming, either
from aether bubbles or planes of existence.

Maybe that's the sign of where an unstable bubble is going to appear next?

No, shift is the red stuff that appears near bubble and rift exits that makes you move really slow.
Nokraenom2006-02-07 21:04:37
It's not always around bubbles, docks, and rift exits though. In some cases, it's just there (usually surrounded by an aether storm).

True, but I'll bet that's where the admins plan on putting more bubbles or something later. Most of those places seem desgined for SOMETHING to be there, but there just isn't anything there yet.

I think he just made that place up.
Laysus2006-02-09 23:04:14
I've been everywhere 'cept astral spheres, nil, and earth, methinks.

Oh, and dramube sucks, because the damned gnomes can't count sad.gif.
Caffrey2006-02-12 19:27:21
Well I've been to everywhere that I know of now.

Crumkindivia
Facility
Frosticia
Dramube Traingle

Aetherway portals on:
Nil
Celest
Earth
Water
Faethorn
All 12 astral spheres.

All of which will be in the next map update...

excl.gif For the admins - Leo's aetherways portal room doesn't appear to be connected to anywhere, is it supposed to be like that?
Shryke2006-02-12 22:30:46
Caffry, this is sorta off topic, but could you put the catacombs on the world map too!??? Pulllleease?
Caffrey2006-02-12 23:32:08
I will do!

Just a small problem of the fact I actually haven't explored it yet, beyond the first couple of rooms! (cos then I died)

But it is top of my to-do list. I just need to level-up a bit. It will be on there as soon as I do.

Sorry!

Quick curious question... do the aetherplexes to Cosmic and Elemental, and such simulate the use of a cubix? or is it completely different?

There's no Aetherplex to Cosmic and Elemental. You have to fly from the Prime Aetherplex, find the rift to Ethereal, transverse it, fly around Ethereal Aetherspace until you find the rift to Elemental, transverse it, then fly around Elemental Aetherspace and find the dock to Earth and dock there, then you can PORTAL EXIT and be on the Earth Plane.

So, its about as much like a cubix as going up to Astral and then down through that particular city's nexus.

The docks on those planes mean that you can board a ship from one of the portal rooms on prime, travel through aetherspace to the particular dock at one area of the ethereal/elemental/cosmic/astral planes, and then exit onto that plane. So for instance, I PORTAL ENTER AVAERIN from Serenwilde, travel through aetherspace to the Astral plane area, then find the Sagittarius dock, then PORTAL EXIT to emerge on the sphere.

I like that it makes raiding Nil/Celestia/Elemental planes possible without a cubix, but it really isn't too equivalent in function. TOUCH CUBIX->NORTH takes less than a second to get to Celestia from prime. Going by ship could take about 15 minutes.

Maybe now that extra restriction of not being able to cubix/haven from enemy territory could be possible! smile.gif

Yes, they're exactly like cubixes, except that you can't use them to escape only to travel and they take 10-30 minutes to activate instead of a fraction of a second. They're like, retro cubixes, powered by little hamsters instead of fusion reactors.
Daganev2006-02-13 06:27:17
It may not have the raiding possibilties of a cubix, but from a hunting persepective it appears to be just that.. wonderfull.

How long does it take to travel to astral for a averaged size ship? 4 hours or 15 minutes?

I like that ships have a use and are not just a novelety.

edit: Also where are caffery's maps? I can't seem to find them.

With my autopilot, about 15-20 minutes to Taurus, I'd say, in a fast ship.
