It would be neat if there were aetherbubbles(whatever they are called) or something, their own little city that you could do ship to ship(or maybe even just bash) with, and when you raided they would put bounties out on your heads people could take. Or a system with that in different areas..Or something like that.

As much as I enjoy the general tone of your post, it's lacking terribly in complete and or thought out ideas...

Actually, I was really hoping the gnomes would do that when they were declaring war on our poor crew... send out a fleet of algorenthines that we'd have to fight.

I am so for this. Perhaps once the specializations are out, and there are quite a few ships, there could be an invasion of some other sentient race with Algontherines of their own. Lusternia, band together and repulse the outsiders!

That would provide a serious use for armadas, and be in general an interesting event. Gorgogs from outer Aetherspace!
