Ooops!
You're quite right, I missed changing the link there, Richter has it correct. I've fixed it... sorry!
I blame aethersickness.

Maybe you could work out the holes and submit it to Estarra for credits!
Richter2006-02-14 01:02:07
Yeah, any way to get rid of the black spaces from the monsters?
Unknown2006-02-14 01:25:12
Well, I could run through it and if a space is surrounded on all sides by squares of a certain type, it fills that in too... but I'm losing accuracy!

Sorry to everyone who tried to access the maps during the last week, my web host has been having some kind of freaky trouble, and they eventually restored all the servers to a point from a month ago... meaning all the map files were deleted.
I think it's working again, and I've uploaded most of the stuff again, I just have to regenerate the main aetherspace detail pages from the saved data.
In slight recompense, I've added a map of the Elemental plane. Note the difference made by the admin addressing the monster spawn bug... no black spaces!
Avaerin Aether Cartography
--------
Incidentally, does anyone have any suggestions for making better 'graphical' maps from the source data? I've sort of been cheating, where I shrink the HTML page down to the smallest font possible, then just take a screenshot. That's why there are lots of black horizontal lines across each image - its the line height.
Any ideas?
Edit: I was considering using a php (or something else) script to generate a gif image on the fly, based on the source html... but I think that might be rather difficult as well as being a rather inelegant solution.
Edit edit: And can anyone else see a firebreathing alligator chasing a psychotic rabbit with tapeworm in the elemental plane? Or have I just been in aetherspace for too long...?

Well, better late than never!
I finally got around to braving the Astral plane long enough to map it.
All planes now up at
Avaerin Aether Cartography
Now I just need to remap Ethereal () and all will be up to date I think.

I'm still looking for suggestions on how to make nicer looking maps, if anyone has any...
Silly lines.
Silly lines.
Tsuki2006-04-14 19:56:15
I kinda like the lines in the smaller versions. Not looking at those for details, and it kinda contributes to the "feel" of an overview sketch.
Eep, and someone remind me not to view the source for the bigger maps again?
