Is there any place that we can fly that we do -not- get instantly mobbed? I'm trying to learn how to fly my ship, and the different positions, and whenever I take off from the peak, I get one or two monsters trying to kill me. Then I panic and run away. Into about ten other monsters.

Is there a place that we could go that has no monsters, so we can test out ship controls? *hope*

I would just say hitch a ride on someone else's ship as a crew member, that's what I did before getting mine, so I didn't feel I was jumping in so blindly. Or ask an experienced pilot to run your ship in circles while you use the other modules. But some kind of controlled environment would be nice for learning the basics. Or an aethership simulator.

Just duke it out in real time. Big deal, one death. It's all in good fun. You practically lose as much XP from death nowadays as in the arena anyawys.

maybe you could ask the gods to place a beacon that chases away monsters at the aetherplex, like bug repellant.
