Thoros still has a way to go, but I know him OOC and he is a good fighters, trust me on that one (I'm not going to reveal his characters)
He also has a lot of potential, and once he transes out he will be a lot better, so quit with the hating or i'll he-bitch man-slap you.

All I need is a Murphy to get people to STFU?
Sweet.
Now, yeah. Thoros isn't bad at all.
And Stryke, you did indeed go on and on to me about assault and how you duelled Amaru and beheaded him. I should say that he chuckled mightily when I asked and feigned innocence. The plot thickens!
Either way, I don't care. Assault/Sweep are overpowered for the simple fact they are powered swings that go through all defenses. That needs to be changed, quite simply. Envoys, envoys, my friends.

But see? OP!

Shryke2006-02-10 01:17:35
Her cutting protection was 50, I'm redoing the test with her applying
:note:
I did this highfavored, she wasn't applying, a web would have screwed me over (orclach, so I do good wounds but easily hindered)
Most importantly: this is with the Champ helm! Nerf champ helms a little bit, but pureblades are ok, they might need an upgrade in a few areas to be fully balanced 1v1.
I still believe things are OK, this proves very little, and I doubt I could do it consistantly...

I really wish there was a fair way to lower the affectivness of pre-nerf weapons.. but there really isn't.
the only really fair thing to do would be to not allow those weapons to be transfered to new players somehow, OR to require that those weapons use power reserves everytime they hit... So it doesn't affect your ability to really fight, but it costs you power. Like 1% for every 10 hits or something.
I hate being the last post on a page, I feel like the post never gets seen.
Torak2006-02-10 10:20:37
2 hit beheads are never 'ok', even if he/she applied odds are it would of just made it a 3 hit behead. You have to keep in mind people can't spend the whole fight webbing because if they don't you will behead in 2 -3 hits. I like Murphs idea with the helm personally.
Ekard2006-02-10 11:51:57
I fighted with Thoros in one of FFAs and he was really good i was impressed.
And back to topic, i share with Diamante and Murphy idea about nerfing helms.
+10% wounding/damage should be enough. Right now its just crazy boost. No artifact can give you such boost.
And working on weapons cap could help a bit, but i can imagine how hard it will be to find best solution.
And im all for lunge/crash/assault/sweep not increase wounding. Its enough that that they bypass all defenses.
Maybe even changed sweep and assault to be jab. But im not sure about it.
I'm not sure also about higher precision on 2 handed weapons then on one handed. Its 2.2 more them on one handed weapon. Maybe it should be lowered to 2.
So greataxe/sword would have cap on 470 precision. Right now its possible to get 500+ and with Great runes/forging runes/aura its can be skyrocked to sick level, and no wonder people behead in 2 assaults.
And behead in 2-3 hits is very wrong.
When i sparred with Ravlok i menaged to survive his few first assaults to head, but i apllied all health to head and was healing only with sparkleberries nad regeneration. But it was possible with 6k health and 4k mana.
Not many could sacrifice health drinking cose damage on greataxe/swords isnt bad.

I assume this is something for the warrior archetype envoys only. I think that's Diamante, Lyco, and Daevos since the Paladins don't have one? Diamante is the only one likely to bring it up at all, he's probably the one to speak with.
Alger2006-02-15 06:43:20
all of you guys suck... you're loosing to Lyco! Kidding Lyco Im sure you're a lot better since last we sparred. This makes me want to play again though, wish work would allow me some time.
Icarus: Icarus are you still an axelord taurian? I drew a pick of you.
Geb: No fair bringing up your monk here you artiewhore! heh your monk kills me in like a couple combos if I make a mistake. Not that I say it was overpowered or anything. Though in comparison at least against you whos offensive had no to very little passive effects (I remember you having a pet) I could fight toe to toe for a bit but against a fighter with a lot of passive effects like Tuerney with all his vibes I get blown away a lot faster (not saying hes better than you, when you were a mage you blew me away a lot faster). Remember when you were a mage with all your passive effects you took on all of Cyrenes top fighters at the same time.
500+ wounding on a weapon in my opinion is too much.

QUOTE(Narsrim @ Feb 9 2006, 01:22 AM) 256076
The average great robes aren't 60+/60+. I had 7 pairs enchanted (which cost me like 50k gold) and the best I was 52/56. I believe it is Malicia who had a 95-ish cutting helm because you can rune then and as such, it is roughly double.
EDIT:
Note that great robes were nerfed when splendor was upgraded. There are some old sets still around when amazing stats in shops, but they aren't possible anymore.
Aye, I agree.
I went shoping for greatrobes a weekor so ago and because I am so picky about it I wrote down all the stats to figure out the best one to get the most protection I could get, this is what I saw in Weavings of Moonlace. (Shorlen's shop in the Serenwilde)
Cutting-Blunt-Total
47-46-93
47-50-97
43-55-98
56-44-100
53-49-102
43-57-100

42-52-94
47-46-93
53-46-99
57-47-104
51-49-100
53-55-108
43-62-105
44-55-99
(19 greatrobes)
(Average cutting=47.52) 23.76%
(Average blunt=51.05) 25.52%
(Average total=98.57)
I asked Shorlen about the one in bold, and he said that's the best overall he's ever made, he's made one or two like it, but nothing above. I've also seen (and had) greatrobes far worse then any on this list down in the 30-40/30-40 range, so I'll call this a high average test.
Ok, I don't know what the stats on field/fullplate are, but I think I remember Malicia telling me a few months ago it was around 90-110?(Please correct me if I'm wrong)
Conclusion:According to those greatrobe stats, that clearly looks like double protection to me.
Edit:Yes, I know it's not rounded but I wanted to be as objective as possible.
And on another note I believe spendor robes are around in the 60-65ish range

Yea, I remember that. I came out of it really disgusted with the magi class too. Soon after, I left it and returned to the monk class.

The Cyrenians weren't using the proper tactic. You don't fight a Mage in Retardation, you get out of the room and shoot him with sleep arrows. I think that's how we ended the everyone vs Geb event.
