Heh, my suggestion for dampen was essentially slink.
I'm a little worried this version is more like Spiral just for mobs. And given the realities of siphoning, I just hope that a balanecd form is still useful.

In place of Widescreen, how about "ExpandHorizon"? (syntax being PILOT EXPAND)
In place of Bamf, how about "Reunion"?
In place of Block, how about "Seal"?
In place of PowerMine, how about "Tear" create a small tear in the aetherways that will rupture should a creature/ship pass by, though it easily re-seals itself afterward, as the aetherspace is fluid.
In place of ShockMine, how about "Pluck" create a miniscule vortex which will flare should a ship or beast pass by, briefly paralzying them via overload or something.
In place of Ultraviolet, how about "BurstBubble"?
In place of AwayTeam, how about "Clutch"? basically making the entity think those linked to the grid are either children, or siblings. So it keeps a connection with them.
In place of Scan, how about "Reach"?
In place of Flare, how about "AlgontherineSong"?
In place of Static, how about "Dissonance"?
In place of Buoy, how about "Memory"? (tied in with the idea of Reunion, creating a memory in the mind of the entity, rather than dropping a buoy)
In place of Feedback, how about "Screech"?
In place of Synchronize, how about "Bond"? (tied in with the idea of Reunion, bond with another ship as a sibling)
In place of LifeLine, how about "ProtectiveInstinct"? (tied in with the idea of Clutch)
In place of Powersurge, how about "Flush"? (as in, flushing your system)
In place of Baffle, how about "Resonance" (so, its own ripples and sounds are in tune with those of the aether beasts, so they pay it no attention)

I got the idea of the entities being somewhat like whales in my head, and went from there. Worked to take the sci-fi out of it to a degree, I think.

Syntax: GRID SYMPATHY/COGNIZANCE
Scan the local area using the algontherine's senses to determine the nature of nearby creatures.
Gives the name of creatures that are currently visible in the map window so that gunners can target them.
For example,
The algorenthine senses:
A school of burning pyrinnes to the north.
A school of burning pyrinnes to the north.
A swarm of gorgogs to the southeast.
