stuff...

Sidra actually hits the nail on how Mag works. The Ur'Guard does ask it's members to be doers. WHAT you do is expansive, get into fighting, go influence in revolts, start a trade, help with all those duties we have to do, get into raiding, write a book, or start messing with novices. Do any of that and you'll be noticed, accepted, and quickly brought into the cliques (which reminds me.. a few people are overdue for additions). In the least, you'll get noticed. If you're falling through the cracks, just tell about what you've been up to.

Do nothing of the sort and your name is forgotten, and fast. If you don't know, you can poke a few people and they'll help. If you think you're in the way of an event, trust me, you AREN'T. If you've been active, speak up saying you have been (and not in a "Where's my reward!" way.. just in a "This and that has been done, Sir" way).

But if you're waiting to get involved.. you'll never be.

That's how Magnagora current stands (when working properly). Not sure if it needs to stay that way or change..but right now, this is it.

Edit to add to Murphy's statement: Do ask.. and if they are not listening but you know they're going to battle, just FOLLOW anyway. When you get there, look for something you can do: web, heal, afflict, just plain old whacks, or just sit and watch and learn.

You don't need permission to help in a city matter, especially if you can guess at some way you can assist. You may get a rude suprise when, say, they run into the Sea of Despair and you don't have waterbreath, but no one will laugh and go "Go away newbie!".

One of my many vices is having a rather large amount of Alts.
From all the alts I had, tried, and keep trying, I keep favouring Glomdoring and Magnagora over Serenwilde and Celest.
Really, even my most exciting of concepts for these two latter organizations fall apart when I try to make them, in face of the general behaviour in them.

From my experience, at least, Seren/Celest have, for a reason I can not truly pinpoint, but generally assume to be a lack of discipline and enforcement upon the Novices, an RP that borderlines on catastrophy.

I will take the more-RP-oriented Glom and Mag over Seren and Celest any day, population or not.

Of course, I'm not saying there are no serioius RPers in Celest/Seren, but to me it seems there is a serious lack in them.

a few pages late.. however..

In celest, if you fail to bring in supplicants for a few days, does your city start attacking you? Just curious cause in Magnagora it does.

Not that I know of, I have never heard of a novice ever getting anything said to them for not doing Supplicants...

No, no.. the actual city itself attacks. Not the people - the city.

I don't think we've ever actually had the Star fall to find out.

The Necromentate goes berserk.

It's not in any danger of actually happening though, simply because the spectre quest is useful as a bashing ground so people do it as a matter of course.

If what, there's not a minimum level of power brought in per month?

That's so cool! wub.gif
Shiri2006-02-17 02:58:29
No, if it ever hits zero.
Unknown2006-02-17 03:00:27
..oh.

Well, that's never going to happen.
Unknown2006-02-17 03:02:47
It did happen to Necromentate though, twice I think. So it's not so unlikely apparently. It just keeps hurting you all the time.
Unknown2006-02-17 03:04:08
I wonder if the Moonhart reaching zero power means everyone gets pelted by squirrels until we fix it? laugh.gif

We need a commune nexus draining quest!
Cwin2006-02-17 03:06:45
Also note that the quest is disabled when Maryl is singing or the gorgog are out.

It's ...possible, but about the same chance as the Star falling (though since you know what happens to Mag, now you MUST tell what the Star does when it falls.. I'm so curious and I KNOW it happened at least once)

It happens when spikes reach zero, not power. Spikes decay fairly quickly, and need to be replenished via the Spectre quest.

Ah, well... when the flame reaches zero then.

Question if you don't mind me asking: Were you the player behind Jairdan?

More than twice. I'd even venture to say four or five times. Far too much if you ask me.
