Hmm, although I know this is probably going against what everyone else is saying... I do think that violence is never a good solution.

Regardless of who shoved who first, or whatever, seriously bashing your professor will only make it harder for some real justice to come out of it, and obscure your efforts to pursue official channels of dealing with him.

I understand the feelings involved, but I suspect it will only make the situation worse.

Ohm.. Scaryness.

Why on earth was he saying 9-11 was a good thing? I'm really interested in HOW he thought that was good.

That's just crap. If a teacher made me cry about my religion I would have them fired and tell my parents and on and on and on.
Daganev2006-02-16 07:04:26
I'm glad to hear that a person like this will soon no longer be teaching...

Hitting another person? If that doesn't get him fired, I suggest calling your local news station about it.

Hate crimes
Suhnaye2006-02-16 09:52:15
First off, I'd like to say that people like that teacher are about the only kind of people I generally dispise... Someone who can blindly hate or want someones death for no reason but what they believe is idiotic in the extreme... I don't care what your own religion says...

Second, make sure that teacher gets kicked to the curb, and for good measure, call a couple news stations, and get his name plastered all over every school and university's black list. I feel no sympathy for someone like that.

Third, I love your complete faith in your god and king, I sort of wish I was able to believe in something like that... But in life your going to find people in the world who go against your beliefs... Hopefully not that badly... But it does happen, and breaking down or crying only lets them know they got to you. I have to wonder... If your King and God and Faith are so wonderfull, and great, why do you need to feel offended, or upset if someone says something against them, or even verbally bashes them right to your face. If you fully believe in their greatness, then the people who speak against them are simply wrong, and they're words are meaningless. And in my experience, meaningless words, simply can't be hurtfull, or any such thing.

Just something for you to think about.
Simimi2006-02-17 00:36:03
This has nothing to do with Faith as Bhudda is not God or Creator of the Universe, he is just a Teacher.

This is really about how he insulted My King, which well i can not explain it to you all, really, you just I guess have to be Thai. You just do not do that, there is no worse insult.

And he has been severly reprimanded, and will be returning home at the end of the semester.
thanks for everything everyone, and yes I love My King, dearly so.

Heh, dunno if all Americans can say the same about Bush...
Simimi2006-02-17 01:01:20
yea i wish they could, The King does not tax his people, so we have no tax in my country and he is just a great person in general, I do not think anyone could not love him.
But anyway I am feeling much better now!

Contrary to democractic belief, Bush is not a king.

Psst... Republican. Unless you're referring to his opponents labeling him like a king in the way he exercises his power.

Psst... His Royal Thai Magesty, Bhuimibol Adulyadej is a King... halo.gif

What else would I be refering to? Ever since he first ran for Presidant in 2000 there have been cartoons and remarks calling him King George II...

There are specific reasons for that, too. The very structure of US Government prevents such. However, the President does not serve the same function nor role as one like Simimi's King. We have our own individual venues for devotion.

Well, I think I probably meant that as in not all Americans can say they love Bush. Maybe that'll clarify it.
Simimi2006-02-17 01:45:02
The King has wartime powers, to declare war, and send Thailand off to war, but other than that he is a figurehead, the Prime Minister does most of the government running.
Suhnaye2006-02-17 03:56:08
Rather like the form of guild leadership roles, the Guildmaster being like the king and being a figurehead who represents the guild to the outside world, the administrator like the prime minister, keeping everything in the guild running and worrying about the day to day business of keeping everything running. Aye?

Mind you, I'm not too fond of irrational nationalism, it annoys me...

If I were living in Thailand I could totally see myself being hysterical in my love for my country of residense... Sun, beaches, lots of local and touring half naked girls. I'd go nuts about my King, my nation, my anything in fact! I'd probably also be a true nazi when it came to Islam or Christianity taking too much of a foothold in my country, or anything that can potentially infringe on the "half naked girls" part of it.

And Simimi, when you say that the teacher is going home, what do you mean exactly? Do you import Islam teachers, and if yes - from where?
Iridiel2006-02-17 09:51:13
I've had several very very religious people as teachers, from several religions, and the most "offensive" they've said in front of me about other religions is the "Oh, but poor guys, they're mistaken" from a catholic who has a priest mindset.

Teachers are there to teach you, not to brainwash you or offend you or abuse her position as autorithy to say wrong things (and even if I still think the USA are the source of their own problems, the 11/9 is absolutely wrong) or be disrespectful with students.

And Simimi, a friend of mine is living with a thai girl, and she was trying to explain us their bussiness with her King, and she was more or less like you.
