You stole that idea from me. sad.gif Make it return 1/4 ego a tick, and I'll be happier with Laetitia staying unaltered.

QUOTE(Anisu @ Feb 19 2006, 01:28 PM) 260217

trans influencing, go faeling and you will see that you can easily do this without chanting. I OUTSIP the normal damage, and I can't sip and laetitia the hard damage (and if then next hit is a hard one too, the debater is shattered)

So any faeling communer that fails to keep ego high enough to divert is either getting heavy hits, or is not paying attention.

I was a level 79 faeling, with a +10% torc, trans influencing, 20 charisma, and full defences, including an alchemist stone. I had 5.9k ego.

If I got hit by successful debates, there is no way I could continue to divert (unless they continually hit with the wrong attack).

On an unrelated note, I was also often out-debated by people with 18 charisma, 16 charisma, and even 13 charisma, simply because of the complete crock that is debating wins vs losses.

This is only compounding the problem of diverters being impossible to stop >_<

Suggested fixes but not necessarily going to be listened to:

Make Sun faster and give more, Sun is very slow and does not give much.

Make it so Light and Coven joining works and make that faster and give more.

Change Laetita to reflect Heal in Healing, basically the youngers have to watch out for being shattered and being void of all mana. As Avaer suggested earlier (forgot to originally add this, Im tired and rushed)
Shamarah2006-02-19 13:35:10
I shattered many many many people in the Rockholm revolt and I only had a chanter for maybe 25% of the time.
Shorlen2006-02-19 13:37:11
You know, the two currrent big 'imbalances' in Lusternia are Laetitia and Saplings. No Commune member is arguing for saplings to remain as absurdly overpowered as they are - why are Citydwellers arguing for Laetitia to remain as it is? sad.gif

Yes, and? This means you are better than average at debating - no big surprise there tongue.gif

It just astounded me that it was nigh on impossible to take down someone like Vesar (Elryn did it once, I think) who had multiple chanters constantly. He did not even attack back half the time, he was debating denizens, yet still he was nearly impossible to shatter.

Not taking anything away from Vesar, good job, it just makes me wonder about chanting.

Because there is no real problem with laetitia, and if you mean one of the latest diverting sessions in Delport (the last hour or so while I was there), perhaps it was because there where 3 people with divert and you where only debating 2.

bolded to point out that Vesar was using a defensive debating style.

Laetitia heals about 700 for me, every six seconds. (I have slight lag all the time, so it may be faster for others.)

Remember also a good deal of Magnagora's citizens are Viscanti, and the best (base) stats for charisma is 12 for Mages/Nihilists, and 11 for brood, perhaps Celest is different, but on our side of things? It's not really all -that- unbalanced, as we have less advantages to begin.

Unknown2006-02-19 13:44:58
see, but we don't want to beef up already beefed up skills (lights already been doubled in a past change, it used to only be 50ego every 10 seconds) we're trying to address things that are unbalanced, not make them MORE unbalanced.

sure, give moondancers/shadowdancers ego fae that regen 1000 ego every 10 seconds or something, but that'll just further mess everything up, as all sides would then be unable to keep in check those diverting.

Divert is the single most useful skill reguarding influencing, not the 3 types of influencing in a village, but divert. Without it you can't 'steal' those things someone else is influencing, and with it you can effectively stop anyone from influencing someone.

huh.gif

Debating Vesar, he continued to divert/influence while shattering those who tried to debate him. It was a good job on his part, he knows how to use the mindsets, but it was insane.

you're getting 700 each chant with only 12 cha?!?! blink.gif

or wait, it's not based on that is it? doh.gif

Anisu != 'Citydwellers' you know.
Anisu2006-02-19 13:48:53
So why not make it you can't divert while you are debating someone (except if you are influencing the denizen aswell)

this also fixes debating your allies for immunity so you can divert.

I said base stats. Not what I had at the time I was testing.

He was taking on multiple debates at once, one with a denizen and on with a player. A little different.
Nymerya2006-02-19 13:53:38
Alright, just did it again with no defenses, and 12 char. Only healed for 500 per six seconds.

Not the point. Someone who does not have a chanter could not debate a denizen, divert and defensivly debate another player all at once.
