Well I'm taking my own unique stand on this, i'm taking lists of everyone who uses defensive debating, and i'ma kill them later for it....right or wrong its very lame to do it, i don't mind having a few extra suspects.

If i get proof of others on my side using it, i'ma beat them down too.

I go defensive when it's tactically sound, I go offensive when it's tactically sound - those who say that defence is strictly better just don't know any better. Both are useful at different times. Pure defence is easy though, offense takes much, much more skill.

Debating really is unbalanced towards the cities - I don't know how anyone can say it isn't. I really hate debating. There is no way to keep someone from running in a peaced village or a series of sactuaries. There is no way to stop someone from influencing really at all. It takes me more than ten minutes and the risk of randomly losing due to pure chance to debate out someone like Vesar or Daevos in most situations, and what do I get for it? They can't influence for 10 minutes, but they can still chant and analyze. So, what have I done? Waste time.

See how many times I won there? EIGHT. After EIGHT wins, a single sip of hers healed her just about to full ego. How is it possible to win? She did nothing, just sipped every now and then, against my 19 charisma. And I could do nothing to her, even WINNING 2/3rds of the attacks.

This is such crap.

I just think it's a stupid system. I sit there, someone attacking for 5 minutes, all he/she does is sip bromide and eat sparkleberries, defending, changing mindsets randomly, and enough time goes past that I -lose- and lose around 5,500+ ego on my loss in one hit. (without him doing even 1 attack)

Name me any other combat senario, against an evenly skilled enemy, where you can just sit there, curing up, and the other person instakills themself acidentally.
